Hi, Steven70!

I'll have to assume first that you have the retail package(two discs in presentation box) before I make my suggestion. If so then I'd advise to totally uninstall PD14, then reinstall from "scratch" using the discs to bring PD14 back to its "raw" version(whether that be Delux, Ultra or Ultimate). From there you add updates up to, but not including the latest update which caused your problem.

I'll leave it to another contributor to advise in the event that you have a downloaded version of PD14.

Cheers!

Neil.

If you are running the Windows version, you might try using a restore point before the patch update.

Hello, Steven70!

Beyond what I earlier suggested(but I was assuming, as it happens, incorrectly that you had the store-bought package), I think B&GSpur has the right idea, restore your computer to the point before you installed the latest patch. It might also have been an idea to burn the software, once downloaded, to a disc from your download files. This would've been best done(in my estimation) when you first downloaded PD14, that way you'll have had the raw version of PD14(Delux, Ultra or Ultimate, whichever applies in your case) prior to any "patch" installations. As of now I can only suggest you try B&GSpur's suggestion.

Cheers!

Neil.

We are volunteers, not SUPPORT.

You have been given adequate information on options to return to when your PowerDirector was working.

Uninstall-reinstall or System Restore, what other help are you seeking?

The SSD may have System Restore OFF by default, so be it, just go and do the uninstall-reinstall to the version that worked best for you and you'll be editing.
May I ask you to attach a 10 second (approx.) untouched file from the cube and perhaps some of us would care to test it, I could even add it to my collection of camera files found on my website. HP Envy Phoenix/4thGen i7-4770(4@3.4GHz~turbo>3.9)

Your file played in both PD 13 and 14, both in the Library and in a timeline.

A longer file would be a good sample for my site, may I have a longer sample of your fishtank or similar?

That's what I was provided by Cyberlink. That is one of the reasons your file should be attached to this thread, a single test by me is perhaps helpful, but 3 or 4 of the very clever members here all testing your clip might get an actual useful bit of information.
Let me ask you, aside from the Cyberlink update which upset your program, did you look to see if by coincidence other updates by Microsoft, or Quicktime, or Flash, something, anything that might have participated in the issue? HP Envy Phoenix/4thGen i7-4770(4@3.4GHz~turbo>3.9)

STEVE!!!
You sent me an error message pertaining to shadow files and I was looking for totally different error.
YOU MUST post any information about your problem on this forum, it is 1000x more helpful to you and to the next person who might run into this issue.
Post the new file and the error like you sent to me and you may get some assistance, I am a good editor but others are better at tech errors. You will only do yourself a favor by doing as I ask. Good luck. HP Envy Phoenix/4thGen i7-4770(4@3.4GHz~turbo>3.9)

Go into Preferences and delete your shadow files and turn off their creation function. Then try again.
