To all on this thread!

I think Scandinerdian feels his situation, as explained in his original post, has been drowned out by comments about avatars and recriminations over other posts. I just reviewed some of these posts and I see where things got a little off-track. In the 7th post after the OP, Mike(Fenman) referred to the "pop-up" about overwrite or insert options, in Post #8 I agreed with him and, as an aside(at the bottom of my post) I made a complimentary remark on Mike's new updated avatar. In Post#9 Carl McMillan(Carl312) suggested I get an avatar for my posts. In Post#10 I gave my reasons why I hadn't found one to suit, then got back to the subject as stated in the OP, the OP being Post #1, of course. After Post #10 "the fog rolled in" and Scandinerdian's OP got lost in all the other to-ing and fro-ing of this thread. I'd guess that he feels he's been ignored, given up and logged off. That's my summing up of this thread, for what it's worth.

@tomasc

Once again I find myself offended by your remarks. Who do you think you are? In one post you say I am a liar and in the next you blame me for a waffling 37 odd thread when I am clearly not the real culprit. Yes, I am guilty for saying Neil was "too ugly" for his avatar And yes, guilty for saying, jokingly, to Tony that he had been too hard on Neil for waffling. As for your latest post, if ever there was a waffle this is it, and I'm sorry to say I don't understand most of what you are trying to say. However, I did understand the bit where you gave your blessing for me to carry on answering questions on the forum - thank you so much.

What I like most about you is the way you seem to speak for everybody else on the forum and you say everyone else was, quite rightly, annoyed by the way this thread developed, but remember a good proportion of them became involved with a comment of some sort about the avatar.

I suppose my problem is having a sense of humour, something you clearly lack. Anyway please don't, in the future, suggest that I am a liar. If you want to have a go at somebody, have a go at the real culprit here, but just speak on behalf of tomasc instead of the rest of the membership

Not everyone sees things the same way, thankfully.

I've had a close look at the thread & done a little analysis, as if you haven't already had enough! laughing

If you have any comment, please PM or email rather than add further to the murkiness here.

Cheers - Tony

Okay,

I see a degree of trans-Atlantic "bad blood" between The Shadowman and Tomasc developing here. This thread should not be creating such tension. I'm definitely backing off at this point. This is getting ugly!

Quote: Tony, how can you be so hard on somebody, especially a fellow senior contributor, with the experience of 1085 messages? Shame on youinnocent

The person with the waffling posts is Neil. Why do you defend him at all.

PM sent.

The problem with text communication is that - at times - one can NOT tell when others may be communicating in a more sarcastic vein than not - unless they are very explicit in their comments. Happens all the time in forums and chat rooms.

You guys are so talented in regard to this video editing stuff and yet can get muddled up in this issue. You guys are all better than that - I just know you are.

I think Robert was being sarcastic a bit there tomasc - maybe. But if not, so be it. Both of you have much to offer to those of us with lesser knowledge about this stuff.

Just hang in there guys - remain calm.

CS
