Neil (an indication that this is addressed to Neil only) -
I think I'm playing leapfrog with a unicorn, here. I shouldn't waste forum space by responding, but what a load of codswallop.
So - you use words like axiomatic (which actually means "generally believed to be true" rather than "self-evident") BUT you don't understand the word "briefly". If you consider yourself to be a pedant, and want to correct others, you'd better make sure you get it right yourself.
You completely insult the intelligence of your fellow forum members by posting a waffling explanation of something that occurred only once (apparently). Give us a break man! You said you "got a similar situation". What you just described is NOTHING like the OP's circumstance. NOTHING.
Read the first post again. Though he used the word "overwrite" what he meant was that the video playback was NOT what was in the timeline.
I just put over 200 clips in the 3 tracks with a total duration of over an hour and EVERY time I went to insert a clip on ANY track I got the pop-up I posted previously. EVERY time.
I'm quite sure the OP has left in disgust, if he/she is any kind of judge of the level of discussion. Very little has been offered to help resolve the issue.
Go on - off you go - do your post about agreeing to disagree.
Yours affectionately - Grumpy
