Of course that moves the cursor. Your approach to video editing is different. I believe that in the YT video you posted that you want to provide a better lip sync. Try this :
- Be sure Snap to reference lines is checked. It is by default.
- Highlight the beginning of the clip. Unlink the clip video and audio.
- Move the cursor to the right 1 frame at a time.
- Move the audio clip to the right by drag and drop where the cursor is to lag 1 frame at a time to that cursor.
Better still just expand the timeline fully and you can then adjust the audio start lead or lag in 1/10 of a frame in accuracy by following steps 1 and 2 above first and then move that little white ball at the bottom left of the screen all the way to the right. You can then move the the audio portion of the clip relative to the video.
