I've begun to create a library of texture images that you are welcome to
use in your projects. There are seamless ones for tiling as well as

As of last September(2016) I have begun a YouTube Channel. It's effectively two channels in one, though one half is proving very difficult to shoot material for(will explain in PM) The other half deals in another of my interests, Trams & Trains. I've just a few moments ago downloaded three of your tracks, Drafty Places, Magical Getaway and Moment Of Strange. Have you anything that could relate to trains and/or train travel?

I received a no-reply link to this, only to see that it was my own post, stupid, really! By the way, I downloaded two other tracks, "Dradty Places" and "Moment Of Strange" which may be used if I can get a ghost hunting side of my YouTube channel happening(perhaps later this year, but I don't hold out much hope).

Actually Eric,

Even though you're offering this music, I think there are still some issues hanging over the use of music in YouTube videos. Apparently YouTube does NOT differentiate between compositions like yours, intended for YouTube use, and commercial music. It seems we're in a no-win situation here. We're going to be "flagged" no matter where our music items are sourced. It may be wise for me to hold off using any further music, outside the one track I did use in a recent video, until YouTube sorts things out(which might be never!).

For the first time I used one of Eric's tracks "Sculpture Garden" for a video made in a Herefordshire garden. I use Audacity and at one point in the 'Save' mode I get a little window that gives the MP3 version of Exif with Eric's name and details of the track within it. I deleted these but attributed the track to Eric in the credits at the end of the video, loaded it to YT no problem.

The video has not been approved by the owners of the garden yet and is unlisted, if it is I will post the link here.

I use Sony Sound Forge Audio Studio 10. If I understand this correctly, if I open one of Eric's tracks in Sound Forge, retitle it with a variant of its original title(still giving title & composer credit), that this should avoid the "flag" that YouTube puts up when someone adds music to a video? Let's know how you got on and I may even give it a crack again myself. It'd be a shame to waste Eric's material which he's put so much effort into creating for our benefit. Cheers!(this is a second attempt to post, the first attempt took too long to save).

I deleted the whole of Eric's 'exif' data it could be that anything in there will cause a 'flagging'.

I have up until now used the free and non-attributable stuff from YouTube themselves and there is nothing at all in their 'exif' data.

If Eric does want the data to remain then it could be that his work is unusable on YouTube.

May I ask you for a comment please Eric

I'll add my name to Jemra1d's call as well. I get an "sfk" file of metadata with each MP3 audio file I create, this will also happen if I open one of Eric's tracks in my Sound Forge to rename it. When I rename the file it would appear thus: Eric Matyas] DRAFTY PLACES(E. Matyas) Independent 2017 - basically it's Artist] TITLE(Composer) C/right holder year. The sfk files can be dispensed with and I usually do get rid of them. Your 'exif" data could be the same thing and if it's causing the flagging for copyright on YouTube, Jemra1d, then so much the better that you do get rid of them. I'll be keeping a close eye on this thread to see what come up. Over to you now, Eric!

My Sound Forge generates what are called "sfk" files, which I generally discard. If they are the same as your metafiles(though branded differently) I might just try the idea and see if it works. I've got a couple of projects coming up for my "Trams & Trains" YouTube channel, one is a visit to a tramway museum and the other is a revisit to a steam railway museum, I'll prepare one of Eric's tracks as I explained earlier and use it as the closing credit sequence music bed, and see if it gets "flagged" or not. Fingers crossed, ay!
