Thanks "Pepsi" for your welcome advice. I eventually resolved the problem rather than solve it. As my burner worked well both before and after this week's failure to burn a DVD, I reasoned that it couldn't be the problem. I therefore gave up, deleted the project and then started a brand new one. Using the exact same clips I made the exact same edit, nothing whatsoever different, only this time the resultant DVD burned without a hitch. I am now happy, albeit still somewhat perplexed!!
