The downloader linked in the originating post still points to and downloads the v2207a patch. When the patch is applied, PD14 shows v2207.1. The SR (Software Release) number is identical to v2130, and the patch file is dated 14 Oct...

Appears the issue has been corrected by CyberLink and 2214 beta is now the downloaded file.

Thanks, Dafydd!

The patch now works correctly, but the SR version is unchanged for whatever reason:

They still haven't given "view entire timeline" tool the confidence boost needed for continuous public appearances, either

Thanks optodata,
The link was tested by CL before I was given it but..... and the rest is known to us all.

display issue: I cant replicate the issue and neither could CL when I mentioned it a while back. All I got was was to expand the display!

Well now I know why you couldn't replicate the issue - it's actually not a bug in PD14!

What's happened is that PD stores the position of the left sidebar (which can be slid left or right to expose or cover the tools and names of each track) with each project, and I must have inadvertently dragged the bar a little to the left on some of my projects.

When the width of the track tool/name area is too narrow, PD then hides the View entire movie tool because there isn't enough room to display it. Each time I opened any affected project, the sidebar would shift left (to the position I'd moved it to embarassed) and PD would hide the tool. I don't usually move the sidebar and I didn't think to drag it to the right to "uncover" the missing tool, but that's exactly what the solution is.

(left image = problem, right image = solution)

Sorry for not realizing this sooneryell

You'd probably need to have the exact same display settings as me to have the problem show up, which could explain why Tony saw it but you and CL didn't.

And maybe related or not, I work in less than full screen mode many times and discovered that issue optodata.

So if I don't see something that I'm expecting to show now, I readjust some of the inner windows, if that makes sense - of maximize PD or associated - opened up window to see if the icon I was expecting shows up.

It's there - but just doesn't display. Something for me to keep being aware of when I'm using PD.

Dafydd,

on your beta patches, you might consider putting in a caveat, like

"back up your PC before doing this"

Not having the guts to try beta patches I have a question. After installing the patch, can you revert to the previous version by installing the previous patch?

Eugene

No.

Doing such can end up with a little bit of both releases for your current running version depending on what exactly what was updated between the two different patches. It was discussed and demonstrated in detail here. http://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/75/43000.page

Yes, the about box will show the last loaded patch version but that's only a facade.

Dafydd,

I'm disappointed that there doesn't seem to be any progress on the following 4 issues, which were all reproduced by Cyberlink in house. 2 beta patches have been issued for PowerDirector since then, but these betas don't fix any of these problems. Could you please ask Cyberlink what's up ?

Hi Eugen157 ,
The beta patch data is what CyberLink want posted. I will definitely bare in mind adding a "warning" message to future beta posts about backing up and restoring. Thank you.

It's somewhat upsetting that they didn't address the multi clip audio disband feature which is gone. 4790K / Asus Z97i-Plus / 16gb (2-8gb)crucial @1866 Mhz / Samsung ssd 840 pro 250gb / Samsung 850 evo 250gb M.2 / 2-4tb HGST 7200rpm raid 1 / Nvidia GTX 1070 founders) / corsair RM650 PS / LG BD-RE
