Have you tried the video adjustments in Cinema Mode? There is Smart stretch and 2.35:1? .

If in Cinema Mode, unable choose aspect ratio.

The bd video has black area, when play back on 21:9 monitor, only small area has picture. So i want trim the black area to let video full screen.

You might want to try this: http://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/42062.page Please let me know if it works also for PowerDVD 15.

I spend quite some time to solve it using my PowerDVD15 Ultra software.

I am using the amazing Acer X34 (21:9) with 3440x1440px.

The simple result is: PowerDVD15 is the wrong choice for this setup.

Removing the black bars (which are part of the BR video) is only possible with VLC player and the famous tool starting with Any...

Even though I understand why this problem exists technically I am somewhat disappointed by PowerDVD as I thought 21:9 isnt too new and niche.

In the end the effort is totally worth it - amazing experience watching my BRs in 21:9!

I hope it becomes more famous at some point... ---

Bottom line is you cant do it for all source aspect ratios without either loosing part of the image in a crop or distorting parts of the image. Theres a physical reality to the display aspect ratio vs the footage ratio that it was produced in.
