This is really, really weird. Something unusual seems to have happened at 11:32PM on the night of 6/7. Internet Explorer crashed, and then at 11:36PM a program installed several libraries used by MS Visual C++ 2008, including several using the Russian language. Do you remember installing a program then?
After that, the logs continue with various normal activities (and many sets of errors from the search/index problem) but they stop at 9:47PM on the evening of 6/8. The next entry is at 4:42AM on 6/9 and there is no activity at all in between, which is when you said you installed the PowerDirector patch. The log entries continue on 6/9 for another 4 hours (until 8:39AM), and then skip ahead an entire day, to 8:27AM on 6/10.
From that point on, there are many errors caused by Windows Update, which again strongly points to a corrupted Windows installation.
I also searched for programs that used the MsiInstaller, and saw that Rapport was installed on 6/15 and
PD11 (
not PD13) was installed on 6/16 at 9:50PM. It was followed by
32 separate installations of the Russian VC++ libraries within a few minutes and SmartSound (part of PowerDirector) was installed at 10:45. It's perfectly normal for a program that uses the VC++ libraries to install them when the main program is installed, but I've never seen anything like 32x.
There are other installation logs since 6/16 from Corel Painter Essentials 3, and the nVidia driver was removed on 6/17 at 4:10PM, but I can't find anything in there at all regarding PD13. Nothing. I don't know how to can explain that, although there are some installer entries at 2:13PM on 6/17 that don't provide any information on which program was installed.
Anyway, I've seen more than enough to convince me that your system needs some serious repairs to Windows before you can hope to have PD running. Let us know how you decide to proceed. I'm probably going to stop my detective work now...
