H264 Codec - Import Issue from Bandicam

Hi guys. Having fun with learning PD13 but having significant audio delays when recording with the H264 codec to an .AVI format. I tried many combinations of the codec as shown in the Bandicam post below, VBR, CBR, high quality, low quality. It doesn't seem to matter which combination I use, they all have audio delays of up to 5 seconds. For audio, recording PCM, stereo 44.1 kHz. As soon as I record with a different codec like MPEG-1 or Motion JPEG, the audio sync issues go away. I thought it may be an issue on the Bandicam side but I can use any standard .AVI player and the issue is non-existent.

Are there known compatibility issues with PD13 interpreting H264 codec videos?

Hi, there has been other post like yours.
Bandicam use variable framrate when recording MP4 - this is not supported in PDR.
try to look at this link for more info.

Thanks for the info Anja.

I've seen those posts and the thing different on mine is that I'm using .AVI, not .MP4 to create the video. I have also tried both VBR and CBR and it does not work on either.

I'm assuming I'll just have to use the MPEG-1 or Motion JPEG codecs in Bandicam until this gets resolved from either side.

Thanks again! Steve S.

Hi Steve Slechta ,
Primarily this isn't a PowerrDirector issue, it's one to do with your choices made using a third party video screen capture software. However, making the right choices in the one, allows the video to be edited in PDR.
Pointers to consider.
1. Video is being recorded of a motion scene (played video).
2. Your computer is playiong the media and is recoding the video.
3. The PC is having to render/process the captured video as it is recording further scenes. This processing is made more stressful for your PC by choosing a high compression codec.
My opinion is for you to test and check and see which selection in your screen capture software (Bandicam) is handled best by your computer and is editable by PDR. Recording about a minute each time will give you something to work with. Your call.
