Power Director 13 ultimate consuming 100% of my CPU when converting MP4 1280x720...help
[Post New]
When I installed new video card (signature) I realized that Win7 / 64 automticamente install the video card (hardware).

It worked, but I wanted to make sure you have installed the drivers atualizadoas AMD.

The last update (amd-catalyst-omega-14:12-with-dotnet45 ...) has no option to uninstall the drivers, used the installation CD, uninstall the drivers restarted the PC, win7 install the card as usual, uninstalled the Device Manager, win7 installed as standard VGA video, installed the update (amd-catalyst-omega-14:12-with-dotnet45 ...)

It works well so far.

When PD13 this video rendering CPU will (95%) consider normal, when I active HE in Produce CPU will (20%)

I have no problem in both crashes.

marianela The updates you made have helped. All 32GB of RAM is now available and you have the latest AMD graphics driver.

I am concerned about some serious crashes that are appearing along with the problems with PD13. Can you please post the log files from these locations on your computer? You may have to turn on "Show hidden files, folders, and drives" in Windows expolrere to see the log folders. You may also have to uncheck "Hide protected operating system files (Recommended)"

  1. C:\Windows\WindowsUpdate.log

  2. C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\ReportingEvents.log

  3. C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\WER\ReportQueue\NonCritical_7.9.9600.17729_f4d62e9e3e89196fbe7236f157f7cefd4a83c21d_00000000_cab_0bb60e0c

I also see that running DxDiag crashed your computer. This tells me that Windows is probably damaged, although this could be caused by a bad driver. Please follow the steps at the start of this *post* and see is Windows can repair the problems.

There's no way PD can work properly until the serious Windows problems are resolved. Hopefully SFC will fix them![/color]

This is the part I want you to follow:

Basically these errors are telling you that there are potentially some fundamental problems with your Win8.1 installation, and the first step in trying to resolve these types of issues is to run the System File Checker program from an Admin (elevated) command prompt, like this:

Press Windows key + X or right-click(long-hold) on the Start button Select Command Prompt(Admin) Type SFC /scannow and hit enter. Windows will check the integrity of its core files and will (hopefully) find and repair any that are damaged.

If SFC reports that it found errors and fixed them all, you're in great shape and can proceed with the next steps. If there are no errors, or if there are errors but SFC can't fix all of them, you may need to follow the steps to "Refresh Your PC" to fix or ensure that Windows is able to function properly.

The logs you attached look like Windows Update worked successfully today, but there were failures as recently as yesterday. Let's see what SFC can find out...

After reinstalling Windows and update everything (20 HOURS) i did SFC scannow and found no problems.

Reeinstalled all programs and did SFC Scannow again and ALL OK.

installed PD13 with all patches and tryed to run it...it crashes stating pd13.exe stopped working.

NOW I AM REALLY CONFUSED AND FRUSTRATED

any ideas from the experts?

P.S- I did some research and when SFC cant fix the corrupt files there is a command that that fixes the component

store corruption on windows 8 and most times avoid having all the work reinstalling windows.

I used it after i reeinstall everything cause after windows update i found some corrupted sistem files that SFC couldnt fix.

I'm glad you got Windows reinstalled and I'm sorry that it took so much time yell

So the good news is that SFC says everything is OK, no problems, and you were able to reinstall PD and the 2604 patch. Is that the right version?

If you had to use the DISM / Online / Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth command even after you used the "Refresh Your PC" command, it's possible that a full Reset Your PC might still be needed. That completely wipes your C: drive and installs a brand-new copy of Windows.

However, let's see if there's anything we can do now. You said that PD crashes now, but before it would just run the CPU at 100%. What are you doing when PD crashes? Are you just starting PD or does it crash when you import or try to play a video?

If it crashes with a video, can you please attach a sample clip?

i did a complete reinstall of windows 8.1..did not a refresh but a RESTORE meaning all apps were erased..only kept my personal files.

I used my windows dvd and i had to windows update from scratch.

Had to reinstall all programs...everything

PD13 is crashing as soon as i open it.

Something doesn't add up. If you did a full reinstall of Windows, the Dxdiag should only show entries from today but it shows at least 9 serious crashes. Did you have a whole bunch of crashes when you were reinstalling windows?

DriverGenius caused 2, the Windows OS file svc_host caused 4 crashes, HardeningTelemetry caused 3 and PD13 crashed once. A new installation should not have anything like this...

EDIT: The serious crashes are listed at the end of the DxDiag results. Look for the WER items

You may have a bad image on your DVD. Here's where you can download a current ISO image and build a boot DVD or flash drive: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-8/create-reset-refresh-media

If you try a new ISO, you should be able to do an in-place installation in less than an hour this time...

Ok, I understand completely. Did you have many crashes during the RESTORE process? Getting a new ISO and repairing your installation should help.

It's possible there's a problem with your RAM or hard drive. Can you run these diagnostics on your RAM and your HDD?

how can it be that with a damaged sistem pd13 worked well before last patch...and now with a clean sistem dont even starts.

I really dont understand why u want me to reinstall windows again if SFC shows no corrupt sistem files and all my programs are working fine except pd13.

Maybe i have a corrupt pd13 installation file? cause i upgraded from pd11 and all i have is an upgrade pd13 file...i had to install pd11 and then run pd13 upgrade.

i am sorry but i like to understand things before loosing another 20 hours..u saying 1 hour to reeinstal windows..maybe

but then its almost 4 gb updates and installing drivers and LOT of programs that i have.

I would do it if i am sure its gonna solve the problem..thats why i ask if its the only solution u see

I know. I don't want you to spend any more time either, but your new installation has more problems than the last one! I don't know why, and I've never seen that happen before.

If you look at the end of the DxDiag, you'll see the programs that crashed when you reinstalled Windows. There shouldn't be any crashes of Windows when it's installing, so right now I don't think PD13 is the problem. Does that make sense?

See what the RAM and HDD tests show. Bad hardware could cause some of these kinds of problems. I'm sorry this has been very difficult for you. We all want you to be running smoothly as quickly as possible!
