G'day

Just brought v13 and installed on my XPS 15. Having issues immediately. I imported some iPhone 5 HD footage and GoPro 1080 and when I double click 90% of them the sound starts playing but no video is shown in the monitor on right side of display but the time bar progress showing the clip is playing. If I drag onto timeline it will play but V13 frequently crashes and a few times all my menu items disappeared.

I've attached screenshot. In this screenshot the video is playing but block but audio is visible.

Any ideas

Thanks

Your System DPI Setting: 192 DPI (200 percent), try setting it to 96 DPI (100 percent).

That is no guarantee that PD will then display the GoPro video. You may have to try a file converter on the GoPro video.

You did not show the Timeline, so we do not know what you have there.

G'day

Sorry to hear that you're having problems, and thanks for uploading the DXDiag results! There are a couple things going on with your machine, but hopefully they can be addressed fairly easily.

The last lines of the test results show the most recent 9 "fault buckets" - also known as BSOD or Blue Screen failures. These are serious faults, and PD13 has caused several of them along with something called "WPNConnectionFailure."

Basically these are telling you that there are potentially some fundamental problems with your Win8.1 installation, and the first step in trying to resolve these types of issues is to run the System File Checker program from an Admin (elevated) command prompt, like this:

Press Windows key + X or right-click(long-hold) on the Start button

Select Command Prompt(Admin)

Type "SFC /scannow" (no quotes) and hit enter

Windows will check the integrity of its core files and will (hopefully) find and repair any that are damaged. If SFC reports that it found errors and fixed them all, you're in great shape and can proceed with the next steps. If there are no errors, or if there are errors but SFC can't fix all of them, you may need to follow the steps to "Refresh Your PC" to fix or ensure that Windows is able to function properly.

Next, you have both the Intel HD4600 (in-built in the i7 CPU) and NVidia GT750M GPU active. This is normally a good thing as it can speed up rendering, but your Intel driver is out of date. Go to Intel's download center and either let the site automatically determine which driver to download or just choose the latest graphics driver for the 4600.

Your nVidia driver is current so you don't need to do anything there. Once you you've done these steps, try opening and editing the same clips and see if things are better.

If you still have trouble with the videos, you may want to try disabling one of the display adapters (HD 4600 or GT 750M) from device manager to see if that helps. There are other possibilities if that doesn't work, but let's think positively and see how these troubleshooting and repair steps go.

If you do need to post again with less than ideal news, please upload a short clip from at least one of your sources so that forum members can check to be sure that something weird isn't going on there.

Good luck!

If I lock it to intel graphics then both gopro & iPhone clips will show/play. Something with the NVidia. I might roll back a couple of NVidia versions . . . .

Did you install the latest PD patch (beta)?
