PowerDirector 13 beta patch v2711

[Release note]

Supports OpenCL 2.0 video effect acceleration technology on Intel Broadwell platforms.

Fixes the issue that the background animation opacity of some title templates is reduced.

Fixes the issue that the “Motion Blur” checkbox in the PIP Designer will be unchecked after reopening the PIP Designer.

This update wiped all my personal settings, "preferences" as if it were a new installation.

Solved a problem with opacity of some particles, personal effects.

I still have problem with SVRT analyze extremely time consuming, for projects with very segments. AMD-FX 8350 / 8GB DDR3

Yep -

All preferences set to default.

Wonder if it fixes the ridiculous flawed installation of EffectExtractor - doubt it.

Haven't tested further than opening PDR & resetting preferences.

Any ETA for when this patch goes live? The v2604 makes PD crash randomly for me at times when I drag a video from the library to the timeline.

No. I am not sure if it is a driver issue or not (like interlaced encoding might be available only for Quadro?)

Dafydd, I'm a little confused, I guess you couldn't find out the details if 2K/4K interlaced formats are supported and now CL is asking if it worked previously, now that appears odd.

In this link of release notes and follow up threads CL position relayed is that it supports i/p in both Kepler and Maxwell, again, that has not been true for higher resolutions on my Kepler or Maxwell cards. http://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/40892.page#211198

In the offical 2307 patch release notes CL states "Supports hardware encoding with NVIDIA Kepler or newer graphics cards." nothing stating it's a partial support.

Paul is right! I just downloaded the patch and the file is called "PowerDirector_2718_GM6_Patch_Patch_VDE150305-02.exe." When PD is opened, the About box shows:

current PD beta version

This version also changed all settings to default, cleared my email and password from the Director Zone auto sign in fields, but it does NOT clear the recent projects list.

CL has also added an APP button at the top right to download the mobile version:

Tes - there's a whole lotta resetting going on. All the thumbnails in every library were reset to "medium" even though I always have them set to the smallest size.

Nothing too new, happened several times before, one example here: http://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/41544.page where the version jumped from 2326 to 2403 prior to the "official" new beta announcement posted on forum. It's just a generic downloader pointing to a fixed area from CL and when a new version exists you get that.

What's new in 2718 version, I guess we await a detailed post from Dafydd for any insight.

Yep, I am still at 13.0.2711.0 version... No over-night magic here

But when I downloaded again the downloader, it downloaded on my computer the 2718 version. I guess CL switched them "on the fly" on their servers.

I guess I will install this one too...

LE: I have the 2718 now. Not only that it reset all my settings, but it deactivated the OpenCL setting on my PC. If anybody is in the same situation, you need to check that back on for full benefits of video card acceleration.
