Snapshots not at full resolution

When importing 4k files and taking snapshots, the resultant files are at only half the resolution of the original 4k data.
The only way I have found to get round this is to take snapshots within the camera itself, but that means sitting for
long periods with the small camera screen and it would obviously be easier to do it within Power Director. Does anyone have a solution? Thanks!

Hi jerichmond -

I don't have PDR13 in front of me right now, but I noticed the same thing only recently. I hadn't noticed it with earlier builds of PDR13 and it's definitely not the case for PDR12, where snapshots are taken at the full resolution of the video.

I suspect something's been tripped up with a recent patch.

Cheers - Tony

OK -- thanks, is there a way to give the company feedback? Customer service is horrifically bad with agents demanding you send them piles of files because they don't know the program well enough to give straightforward answers on what appear to be general bugs!

Issues such as this, that can be confirmed by different PDR users, are usually reported by the moderator... so CL will receive the feedback needed.

Mine appears okay, snapshots are at video resolution. I only tested sample footage made 2K or 4K by PD encoding in 60p, 30p and 60i M2TS formats and they all appear fine to me.

Maybe toggle pref setting for verification, I'm not sure what is meant by "whenever possible" in setting. I guess your situations were not possible?

PD13. here Preferences / File, the box [Use original video size the snapshot image ..].

On, the extracted image will be the same size as the video.

Off, the extracted image is, 1920 x 1080 for any video size, I think. AMD-FX 8350 / 8GB DDR3
SSD SUV400S37240G / 2-HD WD 1TB
AMD Radeon R9 270 / AOC M2470SWD

Yes, that is the size I am getting and that is useless given that the whole point of using 4k for stills is to get high resolution!

I do not have a 4K video here, then I converted to sample Boats.wmv to M2TS / 4K, this I got 4K snapshot. AMD-FX 8350 / 8GB DDR3

Jeff & Playsound -

I was in error. I got back home to discover that my snapshot preferences had the "Keep original video size..." option unchecked. I don't remember unchecking it & I can't think why I would, but checking it restored order!
