PD v 13.0.2408

Setup: I recorded video w/Sony HD camcorder, in HD/30fps, MTS format. Imported in PD and did basic editing, no enhanced features added. I produced the video in H.264, MP4, Quality-1280x720 30p (6mps). The film strip icon on the produced video was yellow. I clicked on Create Disc and used the default Menu. I turned off the canned music. I burned the disc in 2D.

My PC is running Win7/i5Core. Windows Media Player does not recognize the disc I created. I placed the disc in a DVD player and it gives me the error "No Disc".

Where am I going wrong?

Thank You.

MP4 is not a DVD format. It sounds like you copied the produced file to the DVD. Is that correct ?

To burn to a DVD you do not need to produce the video first. However most editors produce the video first and then use the result to "burn" their DVD. Win 10, i7

Once you selected the 2D Disc Tab, which disc format did you select?

If you chose the first option - DVD VIDEO, PD13 will create and burn a DVD that should play in most DVD players. If this is what you chose and it still doesn't play, could be the DVD player just doesn't like the brand of DVD disc. This used to be a big issue, but I haven't run into that much lately. Intel i7 4770k, 16GB, GTX1060 3GB, Two 240GB SSD, 4TB HD, Sony HDR-TD20V 3D camcorder, Sony SLT-A65VK for still images, Windows 10 Pro, 64bit

I don't see an option to select the disc format. In the Final Output window, it identifies the drive correctly. I can give it a label (I did...a simple one). Then, my Final Output options are: Burn to disc/number of copies (checked, 1). I did not check "Save as disc image" or "Create a folder". I used the default Burn Settings.

Any other ideas or do I need to upgrade to something different? I am not using Ultra.

After installing the latest upgrade the issue remains.

Whereas, being a newbie into doing video editing, I thought PD was pretty good. But, now with this BASIC feature. I rate the software POOR! This is pathetic and prevents me from generating income. The QUALITY ASSURANCE dept should all be taken out back and shot. UNBELIEVABLE. I want my $$$ back!

Disk selection is Create Disk > 2D Disk Tab.

You have the selection of DVD, AVCHD or BluRay.
DVD will create DVD Video that plays in most DVD Players.

AVCHD and Bluray both require a compatible Bluray player.

Do you think it is helpful to make a remark calling for the "offing" of Cyberlink personnel? In all liklihood the issue is on your end, so please restrain yourself.

This is probably the problem. .

I read with interest this thread, as I am having some issues as well. The last comment from Myk has me confused. He/she didn't offer an alternative. It appears that the only options are either 3D or 2D - what am I not seeing here?
Also, I have been burning a disc for the past 30 minutes (small project of 4.7GB), the timer is done counting down but the burn goes on. I'm using an HP desktop and wonder if my DVD burner is the issue here...
Thanks for the help!

There really is no option if you are making a 2D DVD.
Try slowing the burn speed down.

OK I'm pretty sure my DVD burner is not functioning properly. However, another question: what's up with the Monopoly board intro with music? I figured out how to mute the music, but how can I make sure that stupid board-game graphic isn't going to play at the beginning??

Hi Derek,
Start a new topic please. You're on another OP's thread (an old thread) and asking additional questions.
