Any chance Cyberlink will change their EULA so you can sell the finished product?

Seems foolish of them not to allow that provision - it seems it would be important to many people.

This is not the place to ask. Support will also be of no help. I suggest contacting the Cyberlink corporate structure itself, marketing, and officers. Then post the results. HP Envy Phoenix/4thGen i7-4770(4@3.4GHz~turbo>3.9)

Alan, they will tell you to acquire the missing licenses by yourself if you plan to use it commercially. That's what EULA tells you too.

What are you asking will lead to price of product increase and that increase is not needed for home-users that don't plan sell their products.

Pardon me, Sonic, but do your talents include predicting what people will say, as well as knowing what the various pools of editors want? Are we not allowed to ask about the future of PowerDirector? HP Envy Phoenix/4thGen i7-4770(4@3.4GHz~turbo>3.9)

I agree, Barry. You cannot know what you do not know.

Is there a provision in the forum to inquire from Cyberlink/Powerdirector users as to their interest in this change in the Eula agreement?

I do not believe in rolling over and saying that this is the way it is live with it. (Not the American way)

Cyberlink also wants to know what its users want and if this is something they want and are willing to pay a little more to have this provision - they would do it. It certainly could help their bottom line.

I have magic powers, that's how I know...

Barry, did you bother to read the EULA? It tells you EXACTLY what you need to do:

CyberLink does not license the above items for commercial use and you are advised to approach the relevant licensing agents at the above addresses for more information.

So Nic67

I think the original question was how to get CL to change the EULA, not what does it currently say. Regards,

OK, ask them and see is they will tell you something different from what I said.
If they wanted to compete with commercial software "boys", they would do it already by now. It is not their first issue of this software.
I personally don't think they would say "Gee, that's a great idea, how come we didn't thought about that by now?"
But that's me and my magic powers. Called common sense.

Changing the EULA means that CL would have to pay those licenses upfront. How much would that be? Not sure.
For example Sony has two tiers for their products - one "Pro" and another "Home Studio". Big difference in prices ($699 VS $139), for different EULA.

Don't agree with Sonic.

You can buy Sony Vegas Pro 13 without these restrictions for $400. I know. I just did. I like the simplicity of Powerdirector that is why I am investigating the possibilities.

We don't need the sarcasm in our discussions We all need to discuss and review the possibilities for the improvement of Powerdirector for everyone.

One final note:

The price Ii paid for Cyberlink software including the latest upgrade price came to more then the $400 I paid for
Sony Vegas Pro 13.

So, Sonic is way off base.

I purchased Vegas Pro 13 because it did not look like I had any other alternative - if I want to sell the end product.

I did not want to move off of Cyberlink software to learn a new more complicated software package (and I wonder how many others there are like me in this respect).

Maybe there is no demand like mine- If not I will be moving on.

I was comparing apples to apples:

http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/buy/moviestudiopp?disp=1

If you compare the $399, then the home version would be $79. But again, that's common sense, my magic power again.

And I don't care what you claim you paid for PowerDirector, as of now it is $89.99 (and it was even cheaper earlier):

Just to prove me wrong, go ahead call Cyberlink and ask them to change the EULA. See if I was "way off".

I have read all the Eula agreements and talked personally to all the companies.

I know what I paid for both products and stand by what I have said.

I have compared apples to apples.

Not sure why you want to argue the situation without out all the facts I have provided in my case.

For me, this ends this conversation.

Just to provide you with more evidence:

I have paid Cyberlink $440 for software to get me to the latest versions of all Cyberlink products that I use - and is equal to the Vegas version which I paid $414 for.. Now if I have to go line by line that is asking a bit much!

In addition I paid Cyberlink and extra $30 for phone support which was basically useless.

My only question was can we put pressure on Cyberlink to modify their Eula. Not what the Eula says. We all know what the Eula says - but can it get changed so we can sell the end product?

Go ahead then, put pressure on CL to modify their EULA... I don't have any vested interest in this.
There is forum link for suggestions:
