I think that your Maxwell card combined with Intel CPU (with Quick Sync) is at fault for this. See if you have the latest update, they just released something recently for this combination.

Fermi cards are still the best way to go in video editors, just because of their mature support.
This is my experience with PowerDirector12, 13 and Vegas Pro (using MainConcept CUDA encoder).

Thanks for the Tip. Well I searched a little around the Web and tested various things. My IGPU is usuall not even active (Bios). My Device Manager shows only the NVidia Card (which is good, no need for the Intel HD 3000. Not doing any Lucid Virtu and my PC is Desktop so Power Consumption doesn't matter that much).

Anyways, installed the latest Drivers for the Intel HD 3000 and activated it in my Bios. Fine. But for PD13 nothing changed really. Same results as usual. Funny thing is, some clips rendering fine and if I re-render (without changes) they are bad again.
So it's working but not reliable and here is the Problem. Working on a Clip for several Hours just to fail in Production later on is not exactly a good thing.

Whish I could get PD13 rendering to work but so far it is like playing lotto. however, thanks again for the input.

On the PD12 side it was some discussion about the new released patch that supposedly fixes that, but it was reported to work only on a Maxwell generation of card - but that PC has also Intel QuickSync capability (and that was mudding the results a little bit).
I still think that the 'fix' is actually to employ the Intel QuickSync when available, instead of nVidia encoder.

On my Fermi generation card, with a CPU that does not have QuickSync, the patch didn't activate the hardware encoding.

Thanks for all the advice. I haven't picked a graphics card yet but from what most people seem to be saying, there is no need to go crazy with a $700 card when $350 will work with similar performance. The time consuming part is the rendering and a fast CPU will help more than an expensive graphics card.

The other time consuming part that I've been plagued with is problems with rendering that seem to be random. I get strange error messages 'sometimes' when producing big HD files or disk images. The process will run for 3 or 4 hours and then just go into lala land or give a weird error. Sometimes restarting my PC and then trying again without changing anything works. Sometimes I have to turn off 3 out of 4 CPUs to avoid the errors - this makes rendering take even longer. I'm hoping my new i7 5960x PC won't have these error problems otherwise I'll be looking for other editing software.

Just did some more testing and my "flicker, green tiles, tearing" rendering issues only appear with download files from "Dailymotion".
so the input data was my original H.264 File, rendered trough Dailymotion and used again as a download (with very unimpressive Bitrates of course).

However, with my "original" recorded Files in either .avi, .mpeg2 or mpeg4 Format everything works just fine. The .avi to H.264 rendering is solid and fast. changes to H.264 source Files an re-rendering is very fast (20 Mins clip takes about 3 Mins to re-render). There are some bugs still but that's another story and not of interest for this thread. Just posting this to clarify the somehow "homemade" issues I had with PD13 so far. The GTX 970 is working perfectly fine.

My own Videos are available for download in various sizes and quality, including the source file. Not downloading videos from other Peoples channels of course.

Well, I would think that, if they are your own files, it means that you have the originals on your HDD. So there is no point in downloading them from Dailymotion...

My original files are stored at Dailymotion. Too much Data to actually keep it on my HDD's. Problem was, I used the DM comressed Versions of my Files (faster download) for some editing and not the huge source file. The DM compressed files are not compatible with PD13 somehow. Can play them in Media Player just fine but not re-render without errors. So for future use I pick the source files again. DRM mechanism makes sense.
