PD12 auto-rendered my project, now all volume is 10% what it was
[Post New]
While working on a project, the PD12 took over in the middle of my editing and began auto-rendering,...making continuing impossible until it was done.

Upon returning to the project when auto-rendering was complete, all volume on the entire project was significantly reduced from what it had been as I was working on it. Despite all adjustments I've tried to make to maximize what audio is left, it just doesn't come up enough to be usable and the project seems destroyed, forcing my to scrap it and start from scratch with the original master footage. (That was a LOT of work, by the way)

Any idea what caused this or how to prevent it from happening again? There is no situation in human relations that cannot be solved with a suitable application of high explosives.

Don't know what the problem was but it should not cause you to scrap the project. Install the latest patch...

One approach to upping the gain is to click the AUDIO ROOM sliders at the left side of the PD window. Move the horizontal-slider dot that's above the speaker icons - to the far right.

Alternatively, PRODUCE the audio to a WAV file. Click on the musical notes icon. Open the file with an external program such as the free Audacity from http://audacity.sourceforge.net/. Make adjustments and then import the file into PD, sync it up and produce your desired file type. There should be no loss in audio quality with WAV files.

I do not understand what it means to self-rendering,.
My suggestion, if the project is corrupted.
Open the auto save project need to enable show hidden files.
