Every time I want to retrieve a past project, e.g one from 2 weeks ago, all I get is black frames in timeline. I have had to re install windows 10 since then. (clean reset.)Every time I try and retrieve a project I was working on, I get the correct frames on the time line but they are black. Every thing else is still there apart from the library pics and vids I used at the time. I have tried putting the correct pictures and video's in the library that I used at the time of making but still only black frames in time line, Can you help Please.

Customer Support Response
2019/10/01 11:37 Dear Kevin,
Thank you for contacting CyberLink Technical Support.
We understand that you are having concern about the blank output when loading a previous projects on the PowerDirector 18. We are more than willing to assist you.
With reference to your query, we would like to inform you that you have to collect and store all of your PiP objects, effects, audio, templates and any files related to your created project that you use in one folder. So your PowerDirector software can locate and load the certain clips to your project.
Once you manage the folder with a file name and saved all that you use in your project, kindly follow the steps below to load your complete project and check again your previous projects condition:
1. Go to the PowerDirector preference window.
2. Click the gear icon.
3. Select file in the menu.
4. Click browse at the export folder.
5. Then choose the folder that contains the project pack material with your project file name.
6. It will load all the clips in your project to your timeline.
See the link below for more information about PowerDirector Project Management Tutorial:

Thank you for you response above. I have been a loyal Power Director user since PD#8. The problem which I described in my original letter has happened to me so many times that it is driving me nuts. I have lost so many large projects which I had been working on for months when I pressed the save "project as button." Then trying to recover it only getting black squares is all described in my original letter. In your reply you suggest watching two videos on how to project manage this issue. I watched those two videos about 5 times now and still cant make any sense out of it. It is just too complicated for me to remember.
I can't believe with todays technology all the things I have to do to just save a project that I have been working months on. All other software has a simple "save as" command and you can start re-working on the project at a later date without totally loosing it. Please send a message to your software designers that the first thing any project (which takes so many man hours to work,) on has got to have a simple way of saving the project that you have spent weeks working on. The last of the two videos about packaging projects although a little easier to unserstasnd than the first solution video, but is still to complicated for me to follow. Please come up with a better solution to saving a project so that it can be rescued and worked on at a later date. I am going to have a look at divinci and adobe to see if they have a simpler way of saving projects. I just cant believe how complicated you have made a basic command to save a project for later work. I am just dumfounded. There has got to be a better way to do this that you software developers can come up with to save the project to a portable hard drive (Which is what I do) so that what ever happens to your computer or operating system, you can always rescue the previous project you were still working on.Please help me stay loyal to Cyberlink as I am sure your competitors must have an easier way of simply saving a project without having to start from scratch every time I have to reset my computer e.t.c.
