Hi! I'm new using the PD 11 and have watch most of the tutorials and search for the issues that I'm facing, however cant find the answer. Hope someone can help me with this.

1- When importing the video clips to the track, I can't seem to view the video, even at the preview screen. It just give me a green blank screen but with voice.
Why is this happening?
And when I'm playing the video, the 'red line' and indicator didn't even move. Is this a normal for PD11?
Even the sample video, its playing in green.

2- My PD11 keep freezing. I can't seem to do a smooth editing without interruption for even 2mins. Anything that I can do re this?

3 - When I import the video, it says that TV format quality is different. Is this due to my video setting?

This is my laptop specs
Toshiba P850-1010X
Intel Core i7 -3630QM 2.4GHz
Windows 8
NVIDIA GeForceGT640M 2GB
16G RAM DDR3, 750 HDD

Appreciate the help / input re this.

Hi,
Well the first thing is to update all graphic driver from the manufacturers site (not windows update),, second make sure you have latest quicktime installed. Then if it is not solved run Dxdiag and save the results to a text file and post it hear, the Dxdiag file lets members (volunteers) have better knowledge of your system.

Hi, thanks for your replies. I asked one of my friend to come over and after checking, I cant update my NVida directly from the website and instead, need to wait for Toshiba dl! They somehow lock it coz we tried installing couple of times and it cant detect my machine.

Somehow my friend did something and now I can see th video - yeay!

Bt new issue.. my video colour turn more towards greenish colour. Diff from original video. Anything I need to do from my side?

Also, my PD11 still freezes bt not as often as before.

Hi,
run a DXDiag on your system from command prompt and save as text tile then post it here. The members will have a better idea of you system and a better chance of figuring out the issue.
Thanks

NURISSAM, Thank you for the Diagnostic files.

Green Screen often is caused by an out of date graphics driver.
I see you have an Intel i7 with HD 4000 Graphics. Which is dated 8/6/2012
The latest driver on the intel site is dated 12/18/2012.

The latest driver is here. (Click Link Below).
http://downloadcenter.intel.com/

Select your driver like this:

When you get to the download page, be sure to select Windows 8 64 Bit.

The HD4000 Intel driver appears to install onto Intel m/brds only It would not install on my ASUS m/brd,, said "system not big enough " or similar
I find it odd that updates for the i7 only work on
Intel m/brds, or is it yet another Win8 quirk?

Most system drivers are specific to manufacturers and /or to specific mobos and OS. If you have an ASUS mobo the specific drivers will be on their support site, as in the attached for my UK U36SD laptop.

Cheers

For instance (if I'm on the right track here, perhaps I'm not), with regard to the 2nd and 3rd generation Intel HD 3000/4000 graphic drivers update.
The Intel HD3000/4000 graphics update site states. . .

Hi, thank you for your help! I manage to start my editing on PD11.
My next issue however is that PD11 keeps crashing / freezing. Its been 5-6 times that I had to restart the program for the past hour. Anything that I need to do re this one?

Any error messages? Those are important. What are you doing when the crash occurs? .

Hi Stevek, there's no error msg. I's suddenly froze.
Yesterday I was trying the play video in reverse and it stuck. Today, I was just simply trying to trim the video and audio and it stuck again.

Hi James1,

Can you please further explain as to why the latest quicktime must be installed?

Thanks

Hi,
Power director 11 requires the latest quicktime to operate properly, and eliminate some faults ...why I am not sure..
Jim
p.s. Also it is advised to get latest drivers from Grpahic card websit (not beta or windows Update) Intel i7-2600@3.4Gz Geforce 560ti-1GB Graphic accelerator, windows 7 Premium 12GB memory
