This Cinavia and other copy protection stuff is really ticking me off. First of all, I have the actual Blu-ray. I was attempting to watch "To Rome With Love" on PowerDVD 12.0.2118a.57. I have the disc in my Blu-ray drive. I get the inital loading screen from the disc and then it stops with the following error:

I disabled the 2nd monitor so only one was hookedup and that didn't make a difference. I killed all background apps as well.

It did play with AnyDVD HD, but as you all know, that doesn't bypass Cinavia.

I am 99% sure this is not a hardware issue. Other discs play just fine, even others that also have Cinavia.

I do not pirate or copy movies. However, I've found that having AnyDVD and other tools has become a must when it comes to watching Blu-rays on a PC due to software bugs, incompatibilities, etc. These copy protection schemes are just getting out of hand for those of us trying to be honest.

I am on Windows 8 in Desktop Mode.

I agree with you entirely Muzicman82. Cyberlink sold its members out when it allowed Cinavia to be installed on its products. As soon as a cinavia free player comes along I will be using it.

Hi Muzicman82,
the error code indicates that there is an issue with HDCP.
can you please check our "readme" thread as well as:

http://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/21448.page

- disable SLI and check again
- check HDCP status in NVIDIA control panel
- don't use clone mode

thanks
