Keeping rendering every 5 seconds

Hi,
I opened PowerDirector 11 and I put one of any video into the timeline then press "play". It kept rendering for every 5 seconds. I am not able to put the effects into the timeline, like title or key green screen.
I read the forum about the kind of problem of rendering. I don't think it is video card problem because I already updated new version on NVDIA GeForce GT 610 with 2K memory. I know that video card is working fine because I have Corel VideoStudio, Sony Movie Studio and few software on my computer and they are working PERFECT, but PowerDirector 11 has PROBLEM with rendering.
I think PowerDirector needs special update or setting. I can't find the setting to correct the rendering problem in control panel of PowerDirector.
I like PowerDirector because they have some features I really like for very usefully. I used on my laptop very well, but still problem on my desktop computer. I do not understand why.
Please help.
Many thanks.

Getting the same here.
Attempting my first HD project. Managed to import and edit video, albeit with numerous crashes along the way. Noticed the rendering problem when adding transitions.

I would suggest you pop off to the cyberlink download page and get the latest updates for PD11.

Then you can pop back here and tell us how it went after the update.

KevetS

As you seem to have the latest update and drivers, I'd suggest you try a fresh install because as you can see by the forum you are the only one having such problems it can therefore only be your system set up or hardware.

No PD10 is not like PD11 and you are only muddying the waters with your link.

PD11 has a patch, PD10 hasn't, the issue has been well researched and fixed in PD11, if a simular problem is occurying then it's due to a poor execution of the patch and upgrades or a system fault isolated to the users configuration and hardware.

This information as far as I know is incorrect. PD10 DOES have a patch to correct the Nvidea driver incompatibility problem. The patch is Patch 2231.

If it were me I would want to confirm that you have the latest version of Power Director 11. What does it say when you select the Power Director 11 icon in the upper right hand corner of the open application? It should provide you with the current version installed.

I would also post a DxDiag file. Instructions on creating a DxDiag are in the stickies at the top of the Power Director 11 forum.

crwatson07,

There may be other factors involved, hard to say yet:

But as a test, I installed a previous version of PD11 and the rendering issue started immediately on the timeline.

I then installed the latest patch( 2418 ) and the rendering did not occur.

So as DJMorgan said:
As you seem to have the latest update and drivers, I'd suggest you try a fresh install because as you can see by the forum you are the only one having such problems it can therefore only be your system set up or hardware.

This may be the most effective and time efficient way to correct your problem.

Well you could atleast try what I said, considering it's not PD it's NVidia causing the issue -.-

You are absolutely right. It is definitely worth trying and as in your case this was the fix. It just hasn't come up before in the forum and this sounds like a great solution.

Is this setting that you are changing a default setting? It appears that it is.

This was an early remedy for PD11 before the CL patch... not nVidia patch, the issue was caused due to CL and nVidia working with different CUDA versions.

Turning off the CUDA in the nVidia control panel simply stops PD11/10 using CUDA to assist in rendering. so the process will be slower than if using the assistance of the GPU.

Suit yourself, but I'd like all my hardware to be working, now as CL fixed this issue certainly with PD11 and my learned associate states PD10, and as all users who experienced the problem, me included, now don't have an issue with rendering or what nVidia drivers we use, why isn't the OPs' system working like ours?

I agree. Changing those settings does stop the rendering problem but you have disabled your hardware.. In effect to fix a leaky faucet you have turned off the main water supply for PD10. I don't know why the PD10 patch and updated drivers didn't fix your issue.

For PD9 users this would be a good work a round since PD9 will not be patched to correct the driver compatibility problem.

All hardware continues to work at no cost after turning off the CUDA for only PowerDirector. - Or does it? I don't know, but everything for me is continuing to work like a treat.

The originator of this thread has not responded to any posts. The third post in this thread gave sufficient assistance for the end user. Members, please do not hijack threads. PDR10 issues are for discussion on the PDR10 forum.

I have considered removing all content below the third post.
