Has any one hit this one?
I am under the pump now as I am doing my brothers Wedding video (transfered from VHs) re edited as it is all amateur footage, a a christmas / wedding anniversay gift.
I have put in 50 hours I cna proof the out put on computer or apple TV - but really need to get it on to DVD (yes I can work around but thats not the point)
Why as it jsut stopped??

I don't know if this will help but your video driver is two and a half years out of date. Download the latest from the Nvidia website and see if that helps. My youtube channel====> http://www.youtube.com/user/relate2?feature=mhsn

'You said, " I cant even get to the create disk menu (it always stops at 94%) even with an empty project."

Please explain. Does the program hang or crash?

How long is the project (in time)?

If this just happened, and you have Windows restore active, can you get back to when it worked?

Have you tried to disable burn to disc and just made a folder set? If there is something wrong in the project, this might tell you that perhaps there is a problem with some transitions, or bad music or other. My guess is music.

Have you installed any new programs recently? Have you tried to uninstall/reinstall the program?

Do you use a registry cleaner? - Don't

Are you using good quality discs or (heaven forbid) store brand or Memorex. You may have a bad batch of discs.

the program hangs -
the project is empty- or just 1 - 10 clips (10 min long) it does not matter I can not simpley get to the create disk function- (ie the menu item tab or what ever
So the type of disk etc, is not the problem as i dont get that far.

Hi Chris

When you burn to DVD your project is actually being rendered/encoded/exported/produced in the background as a SD MPEG file.

Can you Produce your project using the MPEG DVD HQ profile?

If so, import this Produced file into a new project and try again.

I would be interested to know what is at the 94% mark on your time line, a transition, MP3 file, a corrupt video file maybe?

hi Neil - it does not even get tothat level
This is hte simplest way to re create the event
start a new project - no media on time line or in libary (have tried with media in libar and on time line no change)
click on create disk
PD tries to load the create disk page (initializing module) but only gets to 94%
I cant use task manager to kill it as the process is hung and cant be killed without a reboot

Very frustrating

That's great.

Have you tried:

1. Open new project

2. Import this Produced clip

3. Create Disc

Also try another DVD menu template

Hope this works Happing editing

Hi,
When you do the re-instal make sure virus protection is off while it installs and install as administrator...some time ant-virus stuff interferes with the installation process.

I got the same problem. It stock in 65%
To be more preciously, to stock on 00:03:00:16.

But, I found a way to fix it.

Let me check one thing first. How many free space of C drive you got?

In my case, My C drive is almost out of space (6 Giga left only)

And, I found the cyberlink occupied a lot of space.

Powerdirector made a hidden directory in subdirectory "documents\cyberlink\powerdirectior\11.0" and named "shadoweditfiles"

There will be many files which occupy the storage.

Try to quite PowerDirector and delete all files in the directory.

Re-launch PowerDirector, my problem gone by this way.

Chris: Sorry to hear that you are having problems. Did you follow Robert's advice and update your nvidia drivers from the nvidia website? PD likes the latest and greatest. Also ensure that you have the latest version of QuickTime installed. PD needs that to preview, produce and burn.

A complete uninstall/reinstall is not pleasant, but it has resolved problems like this for others who have experienced such issues.

Good luck. Let us know how you make out. Have a great day.
