Don't have to look to far, the previous patch of PD10, 2023 was provided after PD11 was released.

Keep in mind, one can still purchase new download and box versions of PD10 and PD9 from CL approved retail and download distribution channels. If one can continue to buy it new from a vender approved distribution channel should it not be supported?

I'm very happy with this update which solves the Nvidia driver problem because I needed to update my Nvidia driver to solve issues with a game.

I switched from Corel Videostudio because Corel didn't solve an essential bug in Videostudio 12 (which caused a hickup after every transition) and told me to buy Videostudio 13, within a year I bought 12. This was unacceptable for me because I only edit one or two holiday movies a year.

I was afraid history would repeat itself with Cyberlink (I bought Powerdirector 10 a couple of months ago). But with this essential update Cyberlink proves it gives way better support than Corel. This makes me promote Powerdirector to my friends and family!

Hi everyone
I take it lots of people have tried the v2231 and it gets rid of the rendering problem????
I always avoid updates for a long time usually as I need my PD10 to work right every day or I get snowed under with work
cheers

Hi asad22sid ,
Urgent or not please post your issue under a new topic rather than hijack this info thread on a patch release.

Hi,
I tried to update my PD10 (on my WIN 7 computer) with build 2231 but, after downloading it, the installation failed right away and I got the error message:
"Run" has been terminated by MS Visual C++ Runtime Library and
the Cyberlink downloader stopped working.
I gave up after 3 tries.
Please help.
Thanks.

Hi Charles LC,
Just a guess.
Delete the ini files and try again.
Look in: C:\ProgramData\CyberLink\Downloader and delete the content (*.ini files)
PowerDirector 10 is an old program - 13 is the latest and 14 will be out in a couple of months.
Dafydd

Thanks SoftDeko for the suggestion!
I went into the Cyberlink folder but could not find the Downloader and *.ini files!?
Yes I know that PD 10 is rather old but it has worked well for me and it takes only 590 MB to install. I tried to upgrade to PD 11 but it never worked for me and it takes up 4.7GB to install!! I don't see why an upgrade is nearly 10 times the size and does not work!! Does not make sense!

Dafydd - I just looked at the folder you mentioned and see .ini files for every version and every patch for those PD versions installed. I beleive that they were used by PD only once. Guess that you mean that they are of no more use and can be deleted to no ill effect. Is this correct?

Charles LC - My PD9 installation dvd is about 3GB. Don't have PD10 but guess that your installation is okay at 590mb. All of my later PD installations comes on dvd of many GB.

Tomasc,

Thanks for your message!
I do not know why I could not seen any .ini files in my computer!
Yes my PD10 only takes 590MB and it's been working fine for me for several years! And my attempt to upgrade to PD11 has never been successful after a lot of efforts!! So I am very skeptical about the never versions of PD!!
