how do you play blu ray disks?

i purchased and installed ultra trying to play the new sherlock holmes movie and it wont play... nothing happens i click the window and it just pings at me like the session is frozen. what is going on? it just flickers between aero and back. my system far outstrips the requirements for this software yet i cannot even do a simple task like this.
