PD9U64 Trial - CPU threads usage and freezing during timeline shift

I've installed PD9 Ultra64 Trial because I need video editing SW and I've got two questions:
1) Only one thread of my i7-2600K seems to be working during rendering. It's PAL video cropped, split several times, etc. and transcoded to DVD HQ. Is one thread enough using PAL? It's fast, but I'd expect more threads being used.
2) PD9 freezes for several seconds when I move timeline pointer too fast. This lag is not so long when I disable Hardware decoding because I use IGP of my CPU (see above) for its Quick Sync feature (it's enabled). Is it caused by low power of graphics needed for decoding? I can use my GTX460 for decoding and switch to IGP for rendering but it's not convenient enough.
THX.

Hi,
Please provide members with some additional data.

1. Diagnostic files
2. Screenshot of the task manager, Performance tab > CPU History. While processing a project - to see CPU usage.
3. Screenshot of the project - Edit Workspace
4. Information on the video and other media content in your project. Details of source material, file extensions and where they have come from.

I updated Intel HD graphics driver from version 8.15.10.2342 to version 8.15.10.2372 and problem no. 1 seems to be solved - it uses all 8 threads, but I cannot enable/disable QuickSync in hardware acceleration preferences. It's checked but greyed. Does it mean it is active and cannot be switched off? I can activate Hardware video encorer when producing a H.264 AVC or MPEG-2 movie. I could not activate it with*.2342 drivers, when Quick Sync could be checked/unchecked in preferences even if it was enabled.

BTW, is thera any way how to find QuickSync is active?

I had to downgrade to 8.15.10.2342 due to Windows instability. Required files are attached. Only video in that project is video captured by my TV card, PD9, Mpeg-2 DVD-HQ, PAL but PD9 freezing happens every times I try to move pointer regardless video file used. It is lag about 5 seconds long when PD9 doesn't react to anything (even cursor doesn't change).

I switched completely from IGP to GPU (Cable + BIOS settings). I can see CUDA logo in About screen, everything works OK and fast but freezing hasn't disappear. PC's probably unable to decode video so fast and it can be feature not problem .

I've installed PD9 32-bit on another very old PC and shifting of timeline pointer causes no lag of PD9, so it is not problem of PD9 32-bit but something else. Do you have any other ideas how to solve it? Can it be any problem of cache management of PD9? It's probably the last issue that discourages me from buying PD9 for family video editing... Quick Sync problem mentioned elsewhere is not such a problem because my CPU is a beast without QS anyway .

HDD and CPU are idle during PD9 lag, so it is not problem of HW resources. All other programs are OK too. It seems to be caused by MPEG-2 files captured by PD9 itself. Other files (even DVB-T captured by PD9 and imported WTV) are OK.

Hi Vewehr,
The video you're attempting to edit looks to be plain SD footage. I'd like that confirmed please.
1. attach a sample
2. or provide the MediaInfo data of the mpeg file please.
http://mediainfo.sourceforge.net/en
or Gspot: http://www.headbands.com/gspot/v26x/index.htm

Please provide the full property information requested.

I don't have first hand knowledge of the Optimus set up and CyberLink are still looking into the situation.

What are your hardware acceleration options/results have you checked both and run unchecked as a test?

Yes, my video is SD. G-Spot result is attached. I've stopped using IGP and I use my GTX460 only (set up in BIOS). I don't know, if Optimus can be activated when my IGP is not used for any graphics related things, I'm not familiar with Optimus at all, but I can see CUDA logo in About screen. I've tried all 4 combinations of hardware acceleration. No effect so far...

I wish I had given MediaInfo only and requested text file only

Something funny about the file. I see there is a description VOB as the container but it's an mpeg. So how was this file created please and to get an mpg extension?

Is this video on your HDD?

Vob files are notoriously awkward to edit.... there is a good splattering of posts on the PD forums where newbies have sought help.

I don't know why VOB is there. MediaInfo text file of the same movie is attached this time . The file has been created by PD9 capture of VHS by my TV card (composite) in MPEG-2 PAL-B/DVD HQ preset (see attached screenshot) and it is saved to my local HDD.
