Bulk adding of a transition between multiple clips

Is there a way to put the same transition between multiple clips without adding it one at a time between each pair of clips? I see how you can add random and the fade transition between clips, but not how to select what transition is used.

As far as I know Jeff's PD7 answer still applies, except the "Apply random transition to all" icon is below the library window in PD9 :-

The path that Adrian gave you works today; however, in PD9, it is not necessary to clear out the favorites. Regardless how many favorites you have, simply highlight the one you want repeated and then select "apply random transitions to all", then click "cross fade".

Dave,

I'm sorry. I went back, just to make sure, and I was wrong. All of the clips that are in favorites play randomly, if there is more than one clip in there.

Sorry. Don't know what I was doing differently before, if anything. Perhaps I just goofed.

Hmmmmmm.... me thinks everyone is lazy.....

I am working on one of my annual projects (Senior class slide show video) and it will literally have over 200 transitions or so (depending on how many Seniors there are each year, and a little over half as many titles.

For each Senior picture section there are 6 places (one background and 5 photos) the photos have motion going in and out, the back ground also. Every 6 photo blocks will have the same transition, then the next 6 a different one, and so on for around 300 photos. Actually just for the Seniors part 312 photos not to mention intros, roll call list, exits, and other things they want thrown in.. I will have to use D/L DVD's again this year.
I generally use 3 titles per block all with motion.

Each transition I place by hand. I use calculated durations from specific set points to insure that each and every Senior "block" timing is identical. OK now I DO however use cross transition. After my block of transitions are set, I ctrl and high-lite each photo in the block and change the default overlay transition to cross as a batch change. But that's all the transition batch changes you can do that I am aware of.

There is a related thread at http://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/16642.page#83068 which is worth a read.

Actually, I am coming around to Bubba's approach, believing that one can be too lazy.

On the other hand, fading to/from black takes an awful lot of key strokes if there are a lot of clips. It makes a really good transition. That cannot be done by placing a fade transition in favorites, or in any other way, so far as I know. Can't someone explain how to accomplish this on a wholesale basis??

I don't know of a quick way to make them all fade to and from black either. How may video clips you talking about on your project?

Hi Bubba,

There will be two projects, each with about 200-300 pictures and several short videos. If you have advice or examples for me, (which I would appreciate) it may be best to do so by a new thread or pm.
