Hi,

I had the same error code. I use Vista.

I made it work, but I'm not sure how... I don't think the solution can be that easy, but nevertheless it worked when I changed the reading and writing speed from 8x reading/2x writing to 4x reading/2x writing.

I can't show you the logs, I didn't save them.

Well, not to be redundant or anything but I too have the same problem. I have an HP dv6 1030US Pavillion Notebook and the DVD Suite Deluxe comes bundled with it. I tried Power2Go for the first time last night attempting to burn a data disc using a DL +R DVD from Memorex. Same error comes up.

I searched the internet and found this page from Cyberlink:

http://docs.cyberlink.com/multi/support/answerbox_productfaq.jsp?FID=6761&nProdId=19&nProdVerId=200

It states this is a hardware problem.

So, I called HP and spent about an hour on the phone with them. They burned data successfully to my disc using the Windows built in burning software, so naturally they said the hardware is fine and the problem is actually Cyberlink's software.

On another note, I tried to find my version of the DVD Suite software but, unless I've lost my mind, I cannot figure out where this information is. I do however see the upgrade button quite prominently displayed and easily located ... funny how that is.

I hope that someone from Cyberlink is monitoring these forums and responds soon with a fix for this. I spent half a day on this problem, wasted a DL DVD disc which are expensive and I've had it; my next step will be to uninstall Cyberlink DVD Suite and get Nero if there isn't any response soon.

Best,
Max

I found a fix that worked for me (Windows XP, Optiarc DVDRW AD 7200a drive, burning CDs) at
http://www.kb.sony.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&externalId=http--supportmicrosoftcom-kb-324129&sliceId=&docTypeID=DT_MICROSOFTKB_1_1&dialogID=45998917&stateId=1%200%2046004743

"This error message may occur if the IMAPI CD Burner service is turned off. To resolve this issue, make sure that the service is running and that it has not been turned off. By default, the service is set to Manual. Start the IMAPI CD Burner service, and then test it by writing to a CD-R or a CD-RW. If the service works, you may have to set the service to Automatic if it does not start in Manual mode. To set the service to Automatic, follow these steps:

1. Click Start, click Run, type services.msc /s, and then click OK.
2. Double-click IMAPI CD-Burning COM Service.
3. Under Service Status, click Start.
4. Try to write data to a CD."

This occure due to many reasons that will lead to a reading error. The solution I can suggest you is to clean your cd drive lense by a cleaning CD. If still you face the problem you have to compromise with the speed. just reduce the writing speed 50%.( The burning speed option will be availabe with the burning software). This should have solved your problem.

I am getting this error on a computer I have had for only 6 months
things were going along quite nicely and then the ERROR!!!

Now I know it is not my burner as I thought according to the FAQ
I tried an external burner and now am getting the same error message
how can I delete this program and then reinstall if it already came preinstalled on my computer??
Need to know ASAP
trying to get space on my computer and need to burn files off.

Hi Teeter,

If Power2Go came pre-installed on your computer, then it should be on a disc that came with the computer in the box.

If you don't have the disc anymore, you can contact the computer manufacturer to get it again.

Follow what rafeeq said, and burn the disc at a low speed. From my experience and research, it doesn't seem to take long for disc burners to start having issues.

Regards,
David

I've had the same problem and have found a solution.

I was trying to burn a data DVD using Power2go. The info bar at the bottom of the window said that I had about 4500 MB of space, so I added about 4300MB of files to the project. When I tried to burn, I got the error. I tried this on a different computer and got the same error.

Then I tried using BurnQuick and got an error saying that there was too much data - a max of 4000MB could be burnt to a single disc. So I went back into Power2go and reduced the number of files in the project, down to about 3700Mb. When I tried to burn, everything worked fine. I was able to burn a second data dvd by the same method.

Maybe the program is not reading the amount of available space on the disc correctly?

I hope this info is of help to someone.

I am receiving the same error code. This is with burning a BD-R LTH Type 2x speed from Verbatim. The burner has had no problem with DVD-R or DVD-R DL. (The drive has had no problem playing Blu-Ray discs.) The Power2Go software indicates the speed is 2X but does not appear to allow for a slower burning speed. (Previous posts indicated using a slower burning speed). The drop down has only the 2X choice. I was attempting to place around 24G on the disk, and the UI indicated there was still sufficient space. Here is the P2GoLog.txt file:

And I am getting the same error using P2G v6.1.0.3802, writing to a LiteOn iHBS212 BD-RE DL on A Win7 64-bit system with a Core i7 930 (2.8GHz) CPU, Gigabyte X58A-UD5 mobo, 12G DDR3-1600 RAM, and an nVidia Quadro FX3800 graphics card.

What gives? I have plenty enough power and speed for the task, but keep spoiling Verbatim BD-R DL 50G Blu-Ray disks.

Hi everybody!
just slow down the burning speed to at least half the speed and you will all be fine...!

That is totally self-defeating cutting the speed in half. That is also not the answer to the problem. What I did was clean up my system HD so that I had in excess of 50G overhead and I was able to cache the whole project so there was no interruption in write speed.

I have build Power2Go 6.1.0.3802 that came with my Blu Ray Burner. I tried all suggestions above and still get error code 0xeb020b88. I have not found any patches for this software. First two burns worked flawlessly. I have had three errors at various stages in the burning process wasting three discs afterwards (<$30.00).
