This James is in Columbus, Ohio. I just installed the powerdirector 9 and it "stopped working" also. I have downloaded "Patches" but it seems nothing works. Can anyone help me out?

I'm using a HP Pavilion 9000, Windows Vista of course, 32 bit.

James: Welcome to the forum. Always best to start a new post/thread rather than "hijack" an old one. It's kind of "netiquette" around here.

There could be any number of issues, James, that are causing your problem, and we are all here to help, even though we don't work for Cyberlink.

I just checked out the specs of your laptop:

http://reviews.cnet.com/laptops/hp-pavilion-dv9000t-core/4507-3121_7-32064897.html?tag=doormat;rnav

The minimum requirements for PD9 are:

I am guessing off of the top of my head that PD9 is too much software for your older laptop. If you want, you can attach a dxdiag file (instructions in a sticky thread at the top of page 1 of this forum).

Start a new post and attach your files. The real pros here will have a look and tell you whether your computer can handle PD9. It is a very resource-intensive application, much more so than PD8.

Sorry to bear bad news, possibly. Welcome again to the forum and have a great day, despite my bleak prognosis.

You switched from Adobe? Like Adobe After Effects and those cool programs? They seem awesome to use, but also like $700.
