Hope someone can help me out here.
I figured out how to use PD 8. The learning curve wasn't too bad and I went faster as I learned how to navigate everything.
I cannot burn the final copy, program will not let me. it stops part way and reports an "error". I shold have jotted down the error message. I thought I configured everything.
Thank you Vince

The error message is the key. Without it, it could be anything. __________________________________

I'm getting the same error message. I've tried every fix I could find on-line, including:

Using white-coated DVDs
Burning at 4x and 2x
Canceling all start-up programs
Uninstalling all other DVD software on my computer
Updating audio, video and DVD drivers
Closing all other programs
Changing size of file
Reinstalling PowerDirector

Nothing has worked. Please help.

Have you tried to burn a DVD folder only. uncheck Burn DVD.

Have you tried a double layer DVD disk? You select that in the Disk preferences of the Create Disk module.

You also have not posted your computer specs. CPU, Video Card, how much Ram, and OS.

At ALT+C (preferences), General tab, uncheck Enable file Processing..... Carl312: Windows 10 64-bit 8 GB RAM,AMD Phenom II X4 965 3.4 GHz,ATI Radeon HD 5770 1GB,240GB SSD,two 1TB HDs.

I am assuming that you have PowerDirector 8 build 2704. If not you must upgrade.

Patches can be found here:

Carl 312,
Thank you for the patch update. I just downloaded.
Update since I last posted:
I was able to burn over a dozen DVD's. I used WMV to do so. AVI, MPEG and MOV would burn but it either was an error message or the finished product was choppy.
However, the last three copies I tried buring, I received an error message. I did not close the program for three to fur days straight. I just saved and closed an hour ago.
I'm going to try to burn more DVD's later. My kid is sending out game tape to colleges.

You would be better off if you burned a DVD folder for each of your disks. You can make separate folder for each one. (Powerdirector will create 'My Video folder in that folder).

Then use a third party burning software to make as many disks as you need.

That would seem to substantially reduce the value of the software. One of the reasons for purchasing it, in my case, was to be able to burn what I produced.

George,
You are still using Powerdirector to 'Burn' a disk.

You will burn a Folder on your hard drive instead of running the risk of making 'Coasters'.

Once you have the Folder, you can burn with Nero or Power2go as many disks as you want.

Update is now 3022. Carl312: Windows 10 64-bit 8 GB RAM,AMD Phenom II X4 965 3.4 GHz,ATI Radeon HD 5770 1GB,240GB SSD,two 1TB HDs.

Same issue here in PD12, can't burn to disc, error code eEBO2OBE4. Had to transfer all files associated with project to my 20 y o computer with the trial version of PD5 in order to finish the project. Really annoying that everything worked the last time I used it and now nothing.

Top that off was th no customer service to help out makes for a very dissatisfied experience. Can't say I'd be willing to buy anything from cyberlink again after this.

Well, to be honest, PD12 is a little old, but did you try SERVICE and have a ticket number?
Cyberlink is usually pretty good at getting back to customers, but you need to provide good info.

This is news for me that the PD5 trial version does not expire for a 20 year old computer. That is win XP for me.
