I'm bringing old MPG video files into Powerdirector, clipping them, and then exporting them as MP4 files. There is a noticeable loss in definition of the video image. Any recommendations on how to better maintain the original definition? Thanks.

Hi,

Some more info on your source and produce files might shed some light.

You can use https://mediaarea.net/MediaInfoOnline to get a detailed spec on your source files, if you don't use the desktop version.

In general, matching the source and produce files as closely as possible will give the best chance of a good result, but you may need some tweaks in color, sharpness etc. etc., as well as some changes in produce profiles, to get the final results up to your choice of quality.

Cheers
