Hi, my name is Max and I've just bought PowerDVD 10 Ultra. I have Win 7 64 bit installed. After the PDVD10 installation, I put the serial, the activation was sucessfull but when I try to play an MKV file or a DVD, the application does NOT START! What is going on ??? I checked in the Task Manager, the service seems to start but... nothing happens.

Please someone / Cyberlink can give me an answer?

Thanks in advance, Max.

Cyberlink? Anyone can take the responsability here?

Does Cyberlink have QA? Did you really test the application in Windows 7 or it's just marketing?

Hi Michael,

What do you mean by update your VGA ?

After trying to lauch a Blu Ray, 2 pop up indicate the following :

1. Windows : the set of colors has changed; The following software has done an action which force Windows to replace temporarely the set of color by basic Windows 7. Windows will automatically change the set of color by Windows Aero at the end of the software execution, the same for other program which do the same.
Software : CyberLink Corp. Editor : Cyberlink Processus Id (PID) : 3128

2. Play stoped because your graphic pilot is incompatible. Please be sure that your graphic pilot respect the minimum configuration. You will find more info on CyberLink FAQ (code = 0012).

My computer is a laptop VAIO with a Full HD 1920 * 1080, 19 inches screen it in sould apparentely runs HD movies without any problem !!

Thanks for your help,

EG

No solution given...

Can you make it public that PowerDVD 10 Ultra IS NOT COMPATIBLE with Windows 7(doesn't matter the version)?

Hi,
PowerDVD 10 has no issue with Windows 7!

Please check your AV software - it may block PowerDV to startup.

Michael,

Avast it's not blocking PDVD10 to startup. I've checked in the log file.

Anything else to check?

Hi,

three questions:

- please post your DXDIAG as attachement here
- please post what application you have installed
- please post if you use debug mode of OS (PDVD can not work in Debug mode)

SOmething is preventing your program from launching. I can confirm PowerDVD 9 and PowerDVD 10 both launch no problem with Windows 7 64-bit.

Power DVD Ultra 10 as well as the Corel WinDVD (newest version) crash in my setup of Windows 7 Professional 64 bit. Nero Show Time runs everything fine. Go figure. Have returned POwer DVD for refund.

POWERDVD has no problems with windows 7? I would beg to differ. I have 3 different computers at my house running W 7 and version 10 is not working on a single one of them. They are mixed, both NVIDIA and ATI, motherboards have NVidia, intel and AMD chipsets. The only common denominator is W7 on all 3 machines and again, it does not work on any machine in my network. I am still forced to run ultr version 8 and 9 in spite of buying the upgrade.

Thanks Marco

I confirm that Aero theme is required in order to see text in the explorer windows (or whatever they are officially called) for video or music modes. All you see with a classic theme are folder icons but no names in the file trees. I am using Windows 7 64 bit and PowerDVD 10 Ultra.

Later verisons of PowerDVD 10 are working on WIndows 7 on all computers. Wen I had the problems though I have to note that Cyberlink support was totally unresponsive. Training issue I think. You can't help when you are clueless.
