Sorry ya'll... I figured this out out (sort of.. I got it to work but I don't know why it was having a problem before)...
So I had been trying to use it as 48kHz 16 bit mono setting which caused the behavior described.
I set it to 44.1KHz 16 bit mono and it worked fine (and all lesser settings worked as well)
Must be some limitation with my setup.
Please feel free to delete this thread unless it may be helpful to others.
Thanks!

Hello,
Okay so I have Razer Seiren X microphone. When I open the voice over studio I can see the audio meter and it's going up and down nicely into the green as I talk.. all is well.
I go through all of the settings -- Device, Profile, Preferences.. still all is well.. the audio meter is still responding to my voice.
Now when I hit RECORD the audio meter goes to zero and there is no waveform as I'm recording. Nada.
It's as if the mic has stopped working. When I stop recording.. the audio meter is still not showing any response to voice. When I leave voice over studio and then come back, the audio meter will again show a response to voice, but then loses it again once I start RECORD.
I've tried searching for this issue and am coming up dry.
Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you very much!
