Thanks for the information. Size is not an issue. I am working with an original file that is less than one gigabyte. I use Windows Movie Maker with the settings at the highest quality. When the Cyberlink product burns the DVD, the resulting MPEG file is noticeably poorer quality than the original.

I've tried to simply burn the AVI file to the DVD, but I get an error message that tells me it cannot be done.
My company put Power2go and Power DVD on my laptop. When I try to burn a video dvd from an AVI file from a Mini DV tape, the Cyberlink product burns it to the dvd in an MPEG format. The degradation is very noticeable. Is there a way to burn the dvd with no loss in quality?
