hi right ok i might be able to explain problem better here ,
just for example on your video at 3minutes and 38 seconds , right imagne i wanted to mask just the womans head BUT i wanted to make her head smaller BUT keeping the aspect ratio and move her head to bottom of screen , now i have some music notes i have on my screen , i take a screen shot of them and put them in director ,, yes i can just mask the music notes , BUT i cant make them smaller without unticking aspect ratio ,, then when i try to make them smaller the video squeezes them ?? , unfortunately my video dosnt play , i saw in a post that the link i put to it is coming up as private ,, its a tutorial someone gave me , but they are doing it in vegas ,, which is much more expensive ?? any ideas please , so much thanks jim

I'm afraid I still can't figure this out. In trying to mask the video, presumably I must size the mask to the video, but I can't find any way to size a mask that is not itself in 4:3 aspect, but neither the image itself nor the black sides are in 4:30 aspect. What am I doing wrong?
HI PETER i think ive got the same problem maybe ,, have a look at my other post , ive put the name of the you tube video on ,, hope its right ,, but yes it appears you have to untick the aspect ratio bit ,, like yoursel i dont want a squeezed clip regards hope it helps jim ,, what he doing in the vid is what i want to do in my clip .. i think your trying to do same ??

hi all i have a great set up now , but one what should be a small problem is really holding me back , ive been trying since early hours than trying to do this all day , im on the edge of scrapping power diretor , been told it may not mask like i want , ive attatched a video here someone showing me what to do ,, you only need to watch from the 8 minutes and 55 seconds mark , its that masking i cant do ,, power director puts a line round the whole screen capture and can make that bigger and smaller ,, but cannot for life of me just grab the tabulature as he does here just a chosen part of the clip in the time line ,, ive no prob with timing it is just the being able to highlight and move just a part of the screen THANKYOU so much in advance if you can help
