Quote CAB5902 - I used the travel menu last year modified for my needs: 7 chapters on 1 page and the buttons moved to allow longer file names. Here it is with 4:3 video on a 4:3 project. Attached are my 2D Disc settings and a screen recording on the menu being previewed.

Your Menu Designer Bug.mp4 attached video is very sharp at a very low bitrate. Would like to know which screen recorder software you used to achieved this. This is better than what I can do with screen recorder 2. Thank You.

Thanks for sharing your DVD template. The replies from the forum community has been very helpful and definitely has improved my knowledge and understanding of Power Director. OBS (Open Broadcaster Software) is the screen recorder that I used. Believe me it has an easy learning curve.
Quote Looks like your video still shows you still have a 4:3 ratio. Make sure the 2D disk tab is set to a 16:9 profile for either DVD or BD.

Jeff

Thank you so much. I had changed project ratio to 16:9 but didn't think about the video and audio settings in the 2D tab. Now I can get back to modifing the template as I started out to.

One question- do you know if there's a way to search in DirectorZone for templates that have 4 buttons? There are thousands to choose from but only want to have 4 button templates presented to me to pick from.
Quote CAB5902, It's a shame so much of this stuff goes unfixed release after release.

I believe this issue may be one of aspect ratios. Looks like you are trying to do a 4:3 project, correct? I think that menu needs to be modified and created in a 16:9 project, and then after done editing, one can use in 4:3 as long as you don't ever modify the menu in 4:3. Maybe that will get you close enough.

Attached is a menu preview which was from a 16:9 menu modification and then applied to a 4:3 project in an attempt to get you a path with maybe something functional. As seen, the thumbnail window aspect ratio box appears ok, still the fade issue tomasc referenced.

Jeff

Okay- I have tried several options and still getting the same result. I was hopeful your suggestion would wrok but did not help, at least for me. See the attached video file. I made a short screen capture video to get right to the issue. I simply loaded the existing template to modify. Then I switched from Root Menu to Titles/Chapters Menu twice. No adding, removing, or editing any objects on either page. The thumbnail image became distorted after the 2nd move to the Titles/Chapter Menu and then the Root Menu becomes distorted. I have started a Support Ticket explaining the problem and linked this forum topic also. Maybe a software engineer can find a solution,

As I laid in bed last night these exact thoughts came to mind. Yes indeed, my project is being produced in 4:3 format. I started thinking that if the template was designed in 16:9 and I am editing it in 4:3 things could get funky, as they did. Today I plan to make changes as you have suggested. I will report back once completed. Thanks for your input and confirming my suspicion.
Quote This is a bug in the PD15 menu designer. You can choose to report this to Cyberlink Support with the documentation shown. See if they will acknowledge it and escalate it to engineering to fix or patch it.

I also remember the dog fading out which does not happen if you did not modify this template.

Well at least I feel better knowing this wasn't something I was doing wrong. Do you know if this issue was fixed in subsequent PD versions?
I am having trouble doing a simple template modify. The template is "Travel" and is included in PD-15 which is what I am using. The template includes 3 buttons and I need 4. Here is the issue- I can add the extra button but after doing a 'save as' and selecting the custome template the Single Thumbnail is way wider then before. Here a few pictures to illustrate what I mean.
