Hi all,

Below is what I discovered and relayed to Tech Support.

Create Disc
Menutemplateio.dll is not corrupt.
It is not coded properly for my setup.
If I replace the dll in PowerDirector
with the dll copied from a trail version
of PowerProducer. The Create Date Module
does not crash but loads all the way.
The program then crashes on another
error. So it is definitely a coding
problem.

And here is there response.....

I guess that this will probably be my last post...

Under explorer window the file is 334 KB in properties it is 333 KB you are right.
I have a request in to CS for a replacement version of menutemplateio.dll .
Will keep you posted.

Hi Dafydd:

Great minds think alike
I did the same thing awhile back believing the file is corrupt.
In your simulation it crashes on the file before accessing menutemplateio.dll because it can not find it.
So the question is, is it the menutemplate.dll the corrupt file or is it the file menutemplateio.dll is trying to access next?
Not knowing what menutemplateio.dll is trying to do makes it hard to trouble shoot.

My menutemplateio.dll is version 1.2.5.1616 April 17,2008 334 KB, is the one you have the same?

Thanks for your help.

Franco

Open PD7
Starts every time, no problem
On Edit Tab
I drag and drop the movie clip on to the time line. (Aquarium.mpg), no problem.
I can manipulate this clip or any clip I use, no problem.
Click Produce Tab, no problem.
Can produce to any format...
Click on Create Disc Tab...problem...

Does not matter what footage, film, size, what ever...

I get the posted screen shot error.

Franco
Here is the screen shot of crash.

You can see that I am useing the latest build of PD7.

Uninstalled previous version and reinstalled as per instructions for CyberLink Support. Same prosess as posted on this forum.

The crash is the same for both versions, and at the same address everytime.

menutemplateio.dll is the same version and build. This has not changed in the updated version.

Can't seem to attach file...will try later.
Hi Dafydd,

Thanks for the reponse.

I have 11 Inquiries to Cyberlink support on this issue.
They are trying to help but it is getting frustrating.

I have the lastest version of the software installed.
The program installed and starts no problem.
If I take and drag a film clip onto time line and then click on Create Disc
that is when I get the crash. See attached file.
Everything else in PD7 seems to be working great.

Franco
Yes the dreaded "PowerDirector has encountered a problem and needs to close." Error on ModName menutemplateio.dll.

CyberLink support has given me multiple things to try and still no go.
I'm waiting for there next recommendation.

Has anyone ever had this fixed? Or is the only solution a refund?

Thanks
