Hi

I have recently started to move some of my footage from MiniDV tape to my PC to archive to DVD. This was OK until recently, when occ the system freezes whilst importing. The data before the freeze is there, stored in My Works, as [capture]. The camcorder continues running, but PD6 freezes. It takes a reboot to get things going again. This is intermittant, but a real pain. If I try to resume after PD6 has closed down, but I have not rebooted, it refuses to detect the camcorder, and takes ages detecting other equipment. Event viewer tells me not alot, just that PD6 app has hung. The Camcoder is a JVC GRD240 model. PC is an Athlon 64X2 4200. 2Gb Memory, 80Gb System HDD, 200Gb SATA HDD that I use to store these files to. Nvidea FX6800 GPU. All drivers are up to date, as I have only very recently reformated my system, and reinstalled everything again. I am using a firewire PCI card. Is there an Update, or is this a recognised issue at all. Tried looking around on support, but could not find alot of info, about this under PD6, just some stuff under PD5.

Thanks in advance.
hi

Using PD6, and I cant seem to suss out how to get PD6 to do what I want. I have several movies files from my Digital Camera, that I import as .MOV files, and then edit and convert to MPEG2. This now results in me having alot of MPEG2 files on my system. I want to burn all these to 1 DVD, with each movie having a selection button on the DVD menu. It appears that you can only have 1 title using PD6. I do have Nerovision Express, that allows me to import several movie files and have each as its own title and chapters, but is getting an old app now (V6), and I didnt really want to have 2 apps that should do the same thing. Is what I am proposing possible in PD6. I understand I could string all the movies together as 1 title, and use chaptering, but this isnt really what I wanted. Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks for the reply cindy. Main reason why I want to use AVI is, I wanted to import in the first instance with as little compression as possible really. I can import in MPEG2 from analogue, and it seems as this is probably the only way to do it. Wonder what the issue is, or maybe its the video capture card, not being alble to capture in AVI???
Hi

Apologies if this has been asked before....

I have Power Director 6 OEM edition. I am trying to transfer some VHS tapes to DVD. I have a TV capture card, and have the most up to date drivers for it. When I go into the capture module, it initilises the analogue capture device, and if I choose any AVI format from the profile box, when I press record all I get is 'error recording could not start', and I need to restart the app, to try again. Works fine for importing in MPEG2 format, but not for AVI. I did have this issue before , and cyberlink suggested updating drivers, which I did for the Tv card, and it did work, but now doesnt. Wondered if anyone else has this issue at all?
