We have been using power director for the last two months, when our trial version expired and we upgraded and payed for the yearly subscription (power director 365)
.
In these last two months we have found that the program works worse and worse by the day.
Every few hours and for no particular or apparent reason it gets hung up, blocks and ceases to respond. It remains that way until we eventually use the computer task manager to forcefully close the program.
We then have to reopen the program (which happens very swiftly) and reopen the project that we are working on. This part however, if successful (since it often crashes during the process of reopening it, which forces us to close it back up and restart again) takes between 20 and 40 minutes every time. It invariably loads up to 80% with no problem and then gets up at that point.
Once we manage to reopen it, we obviously have to redo whatever task we had at hand (since whatever has been done since the last save gets erased when the program crashes) and shortly after we are back to speed, the program crashes again.
Parallelly, the program often runs and responds extremely slowly, which leads us to repeatedly have to manually render (render preview) different parts of the project so that we can keep working on them.
We seem to find ourselves in an endless loop that is making it is impossible for us to get our work done, we can not lose work because of this and we are getting extremely worried. We bought this program as a professional tool and it is proving completely unmanageable.
The computer that we are running the program on is a perfectly functioning, brand new computer with plenty of free memory space and a powerful largely unused RAM, which is why we know that the problems that we are experiencing are unrelated to the computer in itself.
Due to these continuous technical problems we are losing several hours a day and it is delaying us and our work way beyond any reasonable margen of technical error. This situation is untenable and completely unacceptable, so please contact us with a solution asap.

Once we finish editing a particular segment of our video, we often use the ´group clips´option to ensure that they remain together while attend to other parts of the project.
When we return to the grouped clips after some time, we find that they remain grouped (as they should),however, while clips on one same track maintain their assigned position, relative to one another, they do not remain in place (within the group) relative to the clips in the below or above tracks.
As a result we lose the desired flow, timing and synchronisation of the entire fragment and we keep having to ´ungroup´ the fragment, time it and rearrange it to then ´group´ it once again.
If anyone knows a way around this problem, it would be enormously helpful for us. thank you.
