Ok guys I fixed my freakin problem with these *.IMP errors. I haven't had a lot of time to figure out the solution.. but I went back to the original 1529 Power DVD v18 update/patch and installed it over the latest 2307. Didn't uninstall the latest version just patched over it.
I ran the PDVD and the error didn't come up at all. Still had the "Star Wars: The Last Jedi" bluray in there and hit "Play"; I finally got the "Loading Bluray" dialog box and lo and behold my bluray started playing.
Now that it's working, I'm totally gun-shy to update to any further patches (and there's like 3 or 4 more). I'm going to run on the 1529 patch for a while until I run into a concern that I need to think about applying any further updates.
Cheers and I hope this helps.
Ok.. I decided to test a bit more and this is what I found:
I immediately tried to patch back to the latest 2307 update and it broke again (got the *.imp file error once more). I went back to the 1529 and the issue went away.
Next I started to walk through the patches installing the versions in order from earliest to latest until the problem happened again. The issue occurred right away at patch 2202.
So for my testing, it looks like I can only patch to version 1815 and no further! Problem is in patch 2202 and later.
Again, hopes this works for anyone else having this problem. So far v1815 doesn't show any other issues with playback.
BTW, it would be good to get some feedback from others having this issue if this fix work for them or not..

Great !! Thats new. I did the same Procedure as you and yes you are right i use PowerDVD since many Years (started with Number 7)
I dont wanna try it again since a knew that there is a limited number you can install the Software.
I can Play almost every BluRay, DVD e.g. so i simply skipped the update.
Yes it is truly sad when I can go back to previous versions right now and not have issues playing blurays and dvds. I upgraded to v18 for 4K (future proof - not like I really needed it) and now I can even play the basic disks.
How pathetic!

This is what I'm getting (see attachment). Re-loaded the program 3 times, added the patch 2202 and my purchase was directly through Cybelink on-line
BTW, never had this issue before. I upgraded to 18 like 3 to 4 months ago and used it without issue. This error and unable to play just happen like over the last couple of weeks.

Yes "Error opening *.INP files. Please reinstall program"
What you mean with IMP File. An IMP file is a project created by Logotron Imagine, an educational tool used by students to develop creative skills

Are you sure you're getting a loading error of *.inp files not *.imp files? What error code are you getting from PowerDVD? Please confirm..
