A few years ago, I purchased a 'video grabber' and it came with Power Director 12. I purchased it for one reason only, to digitise a load of VHS tapes I'd recorded over the past few decades. However, after many failed attempts and a great deal of reading on various forums, I found that the problem lay with your Macrovision detector. It fails to differentiate between the copyright protection and a temporary 'blip' on the tape. Why? There is a world of difference between the regular pulses of a Macrovision signal and a piece of 'damaged' or 'noisy' tape. So again, why can't it tell the difference?
I've noticed on several forums (just google the following: cyberlink powerdirector capture VHS problems) that a great many people over many years have had and still have this problem, and yet you've done nothing to solve it. Why?
Also, knowing that people will buy this software for the sole reason of digitising their old VHS tapes and will inevitably encounter this problem, why not warn them first, before they waste their money. Your website tells of all the wonderful things your software can do, but there's not a mention of anything related to this considerable issue. I also typed Macrovision into your forum search and it found nothing.
If the above is all true, then shame on you.
However, if it's something built into the hardware, then ignore the above and accept my apologies.
