Can you explain a bit what it is you want to do. It comes to me that once you have created/saved the project file with all information to produce, that a "simple click" to get this production and save the output file, would be easier than come back and produce the output file at later moment. You would need to make sure that all your source files are still in the same place etc. etc.
If it is a Batch production you are after, e.g. to produce various types of output from the same projects, I find the Batch Produce in the file menu very handy.
You can add a number of project files and set the output parameters and get the production going. I use it to first create a DVD and later a Blu-ray from the same projects. There is a very good Youtube tutorial about this function.
What is a bit un-handy with this batch process is, that 1) it does not remember that I am a PAL user, and starts with NTSC every time first time; 2) once added a number of projects it is not possible to set the output parameters in one go, nor the output file folder.
The trick is to add 1 project and set the output parameters. Any subsequent added project file will have the same output parameters as the first O=(or as the one above I should say).
So Batch production, but again, it depends on what you are looking for.
Hi, the situation I am in is that I have a number of psd files all with different scenes set up. What i want to be able to do is swap out the video portion of the scene with another of the same length and then produce another output video file which will be the same scene but with a different video in one of the tracks. Since the psd is in xml it is easy for me to just alter the path but once i have the new psd i would like to be able to invoke the 'produce' functionality automatically. it doesnt fall under batch production as based upon the parameters in my application, it could be any of the psd files that needs to be manipulated with a new video track.
since all of the information regarding how the video will be produced is in the psd, it seems like it would be trivial to expose a command line parameter to start the produce feature without having to open the gui which is why im surprised that one doesnt seem available.

Hi,
As far as I am aware there are no documented command line parameters that operate with PD.
Cheers

Is it possible to get any sort of answer from a developer on the tool, as there may be some command line arguments that are not documented but still exist?
Otherwise, i assume the only way of being able to achieve this is to use some sort of screen clicking macro software, or to find another editor, which is a shame because i like a lot of what pd has to offer.

Hi, I am looking for a way to automate the production of project (PSD) files using command line.
However, so far I have only managed to figure out how to automatically open a project and that is simply by put the path to the project after the exe.
Effectively, I want to be able to produce an MP4/Avi using the project file WITHOUT having to open the application.
Is this even possible and if so, does anyone have a list of command line arguments for pd16?
Ideally it would look something like "PDR.exe myproject.psd /produce"
Since all info is already in the psd file it would then just run the produce step in the pplication and I'd get the output file.
Unfortunately I've tried to ask technical support but they don't seem to reply.
