I'm having the exact same issue. I can load gifs into a new project with no other files and it works fine. When I try to load gifs into a project that has other files in it, the gifs don't work and sit on the timeline empty. Did you ever figure out a fix for this?

Quote Hi again -

Here, the GIF you attached plays back properly in Media Library & timeline using the 2309 patch. Other GIFs I tested are fine in the Media Library but - in the timeline they display like your screenshot & won't play back.

With the 2421 beta patch installed, no GIFs will play in Media Library or timeline.

The same GIFs play back perfectly in PDR14.

Cheers - Tony

Hi Tony,

I know that since you've already told me from your earlier reply but since I've only took the patch that was available over here (http://www.cyberlink.com/support/powerdirector-ultra/patches_en_US.html) and haven't used any Beta patches I'm a bit at lost on why my installation doesn't play GIFs and can't add on the Timeline. I'm at 2309 patch the official one and I'm not on any Beta patches. I've made a video as well so you can better see what's happening. Do you have Quicktime installed on your installation? My current installation of PD15 is an upgrade from my previous PD14. I'm a bit at loss here since I'm still trying to pinpoint the cause, it would have been easy if I was on a Beta patch but since I only took the official one I'm looking for other areas on what might have been the problem. The CS in Cyberlink doesn't seem to help much since the CS said "Regarding your concern, I would like to inform you that GIF image is supported in software, but there is a limitation in the software. It will act as a normal image and will not play" which isn't the case since yours seem to be running just fine.
