Re PD16, is it normal for a 5 minute video rendered in MPEG-4 2K 2048x1536/30p (Mbps) to produce an MP4 that is 1.5G?

I have been learning how to use it and love the software but have an ongoing problem with cell phone video. Each time I open a timeline segment of cell phone video in the PiP Designer, then click on "save" or even "cancel", the video becomes squished once I go back to the preview window. It matains the original outline but the entire frame is compressed down to about 1/3 of what it was and is completly unusable. I've mess around with frame rates and aspect ratios but I guess I'm too much of a newibe to be able to figure it out.
Thanks for any ideas...
