This error is actually stating the opposite if you read your pic. The timeline is 30NTSC which is 29.97fps interlaced and your imported video from BORESOFT MXF converter is 30fps progressive, that's the conflict PD is cautioning you about.

I’d probably try to be a little bit more consistent with fps vs doing a bunch of conversions. To me it looks like you have:
1) 59.94fps Interlaced camera (source)
2) 30fps progressive after BORESOFT MXF converter
3) You don’t mention what format you produced to in PD for the tearing, but more than likely a 29.97fps interlaced variety

That’s a lot of fps and interlaced to progressive conversions that just leads to trouble. Not knowing your intended end use of your video it’s a little hard to recommend a more streamlined path. I’d probably:
1) change your settings in your MXF converter to create a H.264 (59.94i) format to match camera source
2) in PD pref > General > Timeline frame rate: to 60 NTSC (59.94i)
3) see if Intelligent SVRT on the “Produce” tab will provide a reasonable format suggestion to match source video. If not you will need to create a custom one based on the H.264 and set the 59.94i (shown in pic).

This keeps your recorded camera source of 59.94i framerate throughout the PD edit and produce process. See if the above provides any better quality.

Thank you for the suggestions Jeff. It will be a few days before I can check this out but it sounds like a good plan. For HD the MXF files are huge...about 20 to 24 Gb per hour. I just wanted to do some editing and make the files a little smaller. Hopefully, this will work.

To further help I have attached a picture of the .MXF file properties that the Canon Utility made. It shows the bit rate to be: 59.94i. The file plays very well in the XF utility, however when the MXF file is converted to mpeg2 and the mpeg2 clips are joined in PD14 as a project, we get the rips or shearing. The individual mpeg2 clips created from the BRORSOFT MXF converter appear to work and look just fine.

I could use the MXF converter program to join the mpeg2 clip files, however I would not have the benefit of adding transition effects, fades, enhancements, titles, etc. in the PD14 program.

I have a Canon XF305 camcorder. When I have made a video I use a Canon XF Utility to move or copy the .MXF files to my computer. Then I use a BORESOFT MXF converter progam to create .mpg (mpeg-2) files of each of the clips. This has to be done first before I have something I may edit in power director. Once Power Director has imported the new .mpg files I use PD14 to merge all of the clips into one file and add any needed titles or effects. Then I save the newly constructed file back to the computer.

Once the project is completed the end product shows tearring or shearing of the video when the camera is moving, most likely due to the frame rate conflict. I don't think my PD14 program is automatically adjusting for this issue as mentioned elsewhere in this forum.

Here are some details:XF305 camera settings: 50 Mbps, 1920 x 1080, 60i.
