JL_JL, thanks for this. I have tried this with-out success. I tried this with the 2 different brands. All these rejected discs by PD, work with ImgBurn.
I'm ordering some Sony discs online as none are available locally to give them a try.
Cyberlink Support has suggested to use Sony discs and re-install PD14 along with graphic card drivers. I have re-installed them both with-out success.
Here is my thought on this....
PD14 initially sees and it appears to properly ID the speed of the discs as seen under settings. Based on the sound and the short time it takes when it goes to burn the disc and the showing up of the error code. This all happens too quickly in my opinion. It appears that PD "re-checks" the disc after rendering(processing) and before burning. The time PD waits for an answer while re-checking is too quick. This one thing alone can be an issue that rejects the discs. I have no way of testing this.
It appears that PD has a time it waits and my other program waits for the detection of the disc and then burns. This would answer why PD sends an error code and ImgBurn does not and why the discs are still usable.
I think this would also answer why only some have this issue. Perhaps the Sony discs will have the response time required to run smoothly.
It will be a few days before I will find out...
Thanks again.... cheers,

Good Day Carl312,
You are right in being able to burn to folder or ISO. I am using ImgBurn as a free burning tool for my ISO's and that is working for me.
Windows 10 pro 64bit 8gigs Ram AMD FX8350 Radeon HD 6670 Kingston 250gig ssd C:\ over 100 gigs free with 4tb Seagate data , 2tb data, G:\ Blu-Ray Burner LG model WH16NS40 with firmware ver. 1.02-A0
Thanks Again,
Alan

Thank you Carl312,
Yes B&H has a good selection at a reasonable price. I will order a 5 pack for testing then move on to the spindle as needed.
Yes I have a Blu-Ray burner.
Here's hoping this will work.
I have tried 2 brands to date and neither worked with PD14, yet both work with ImgBurn, so I'm really hoping the Sony discs work with PD14
Cheers.

Good Day,
On the 4th day I got a reply from Support.
quote "We are trying to find a similar spec PC, optical driver and the disc to check if we are able to reproduce the issue in our lab.
In the meantime, it is suggested to try reinstall PowerDirector and the VGA driver. It might be a possible solution."
I did try their suggestion(reinstalling) before making contact with support, so I am not sure that doing this another time will help.
I was hoping to figure this out and then move on to other issues. My PD14 hangs and freezes completely on a regular basis. I have informed support about this while asking about the disc burning issue.
After correspondence with Support since the 13th of April and now being the 30th and nothing has changed. Right now, I am not sure this is the program for me.

Good Day,
It is now past 48 hours since I sent support what it requested. I am still waiting their reply....... soon I hope.
I have taken this time to read up on Blu-Ray record-able discs. There is a lot of information out there. Reading the difference between LTH vs HTL and when burner manufacturing made adjustments to their burners including firmware to allow them to burn LTH discs. This took place way back in 2007-2008.
I am looking for a decent quality disc that I can print on with my desk top printer (inkjet)

Thanks kmjk333,
Good to know..... I am corresponding with support to further understand this. My work around is to make an ISO or burn to folder and then burn to disc with ImgBurn.
Support has had me download PowerToGo10 with a 5 day key to install and do some screen shots of the dive and disc info. in a day or so when they get back to me I may know more. I have been corresponding with support since the 13th of April... this is traking some time. Because there is a work around, I am less frustrated.
I do believe there maybe the disc issue... looking for better discs. This is the only program I have to burn Blu-Ray discs that will not burn these discs, but this will not stop me from looking for better discs.
Thanks again

Thanks JL_JL Jeff,
Yes burning to a folder or ISO then to disc works well for me.
I wish it would work for me in PD as well as this was one of the reasons I bought it.
The same discs that don't work in PD work in ImgBurn. I thought this odd.
If i don't use PD to burn discs, then no problem.

Thanks Andrew,
Perhaps I have just had bad luck.

Cheers tomasc.... thank you
You are right, there are work arounds and the disc are perhaps not top shelf.
I did see the other posting you showed me. Nice to read but much like I am doing... a work around.
I have contacted support, They said it is prety much said in the error code statement "error code: eEb191784 CyberLink PowerDirector could not format this disc. The burning drive does not support this disc."
Support olso suggested to get some Sony discs.
I have been unable to find any in my city. Online I saw them for 399.99 for 50 discs.
With discs at those costs, it becomes a very costly venture very quickly
My other program works fine with these discs
Perhaps I could hear the equipment otheres are using and the discs.
Thanks again
Perhaps there is a better burner...

I am trying to burn Blu-Ray disc in Powerdirector 14.0.2707.0 without success.
Windows 10
This is my first Cyberlink program I have used other than powerDVD, so this is all new to me.
I get an "error code: eEb191784 CyberLink PowerDirector could not format this disc. The burning drive does not support this disc."
At face value, this sounds like, a wrong or bad drive, plus it could be a bad or wrong disc.
I tried bruning an ISO and this worked.
I used ImgBurn to burn this ISO to the very disc that recieved the error code and it worked.
This disc plays on our home Blu-Ray player.
I have tried to figure out how come ImgBurn works burning Blu-Ray discs and PD 14 is not for me.
After going through 2 3rds of my 30 pack of discs(Verbatim BD-R LTH Type 6x), then trying another brand and having the same issue.
The drive is an LG model WH16NS40 with firmware ver. 1.02-A0 - This is a Blu-Ray burner
PowerDirector 14 has burned to dvd for me with this drive.
I purchased this program because the Blu-Ray burning capability.
ImgBurn has no problems burning an ISO and PowerDirector 14 does have a problem... what does this mean?
I also found out that PD does not appear to have the choice to burn its own ISO's after making them, this is unfortunate.
Image posting I do not understand how to fill in the "source" box.
I do have other issues that may or may not be related.
4 times it has stopped responding at various times, but nearly every time temporarily freezes and then continues.
I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling, yet it appears to be opperating the same.
This is my very first post.
