Hi Neil

Thanks, I've checked and it has the RW symbol in a rounded square and it says DVD+R DL on it too. I've burned to these discs with this laptop before so in theory they shoulld be ok.
Thank you very much for your reply. I bought the software from Amazon this week but I have now downloaded the update as you sugggested. I have also followed your other suggestion of unchecking burn to disc and selecting create a folder. This was successful. How do I now get the video on to the DVD?
Hi

I am using PowerDirector 13 deluxe to edit some home videos and hopefully burn them to a DVD so that we can watch them on tv. I have managed to edit about 55 minutes worth of video but am struggling to burn it to DVD as when I click on 'start burning' it says that 'this disc type is not supported'.

Here's some information about my computer, the version of powerdirector 13 and the type of DVD to help:

Computer: Windows 8.1, Processor: Intel(R) Pentium(R) CPU 987 @ 1.50GHZ, RAM: 4.00GB, System type: 64-bit operating system

PowerDirector 13 Deluxe 13.0.2104.0 SR number: VDE140707-01

DVD: SONY General version 1.1/2x-speed DVD-RW Revision 1.0

I'm afraid I'm rather clueless when it comes to this kind of thing so I don't know if the above information is useful or if I've missed out something important but any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
