here is the dxdiag file.
none told me that pd uses the windows codecs. i assummed it by myself . i hope you to find something in that file.
i setup the doenloaded trial pd14 in tree diferent machines with the same setup fil and the latest update i3 -5-7 and only the i7 have this problem.
is there a way to check what codecs the pd uses when capturing from dv?
will the avi file help to troubleshoot? if yes how do i send it to you?
i am ataching a mediainfo file from the avi that doesnt play right with pd but fine with the mpc media player by k-lite

Yes shadow files are enabled.both timeline and preview have the same problem.if i add a pd captured avi the playback is slow.i mean like it is in slow motion. no breaks at the clip or mising frames and freezes.
playback is smooth ..

Yes there is something wrong with mine setup.since PD takes codecs from the windows I do not think that it is pd problem.I think the problem has something to do with the pd-windows connection.
It is a w10 i7 with 16gb ram and an ssd.
I uninstaled - installed k-lite and pd14 many times trying not to leave something back without any results.
As I sayed scenalyzer and wind both manege to capture avi that it is use full in PD but not PD itself.
Is there a chance to have some setting wrong in the camera side? It is a Sony trv30
I am capturing avi, add it to PD for some video enhancement +some transinsions and I export an h264 mkv file for storing and viewing in a NAS drive.I do not plan to make DVDs.the only reason I am trying to capture in avi is that I heard that avi file is the appropriate for editing with the minimum loses.
The mpg2 from PD capture works well.
Steve , what rate do you suggest for the final mkv 720x576 captured files?

Still haven't fixed it. PD avi captures are useless. All Avis have the same problem.
Tried scenalyzer and windv from 2003 age and the Avis are all fine when imported to PD.
Also the avi files from PD didn't t play correctly at smart TV.
Those old softwares lack many capturing features of PD and I really would like to use PD as capturing.
Can please any of you guys help me to solve this?

i have already set the Lav spliters with no diference.
i narow the problem :
it seems that all avi file play and preview fine in pd14 Except those the pd14 made from dvtape!(with a firewire 1394 card)sony dv camcorder
when i capture a dv tape with the pd14 i have no options or settings to set .all are greyed out and there is a note that " settings are taken from the dv" or something like that.
any ideas guys ?
a workaround:
if i capture the tapes as second option mpg what are the down sides or benefits?is it the same quality?can i proccess those the same way? i noticed that these mpg files are not playable in a sampung tv unless i produce them in mp4.

helo,
i have installed the pd14 and everything was fin . then something hapend and the imported avi files started to playback slow.
i had already the k-lite pack instaled.
tried uninstaling and instaling again , same issue
can someone please help?
