Just to let you know that CL tech. service confirmed that PD14 supports importing via firewire and burning to BD maintaining the 1440 x 1080 resolution. Therefor I have ordered
Director Suite 4.

Hi Stevek,
From Barry I understood that PD14 don't support splitting HDV material during import. He made me aware of a small free program called "HDVsplit" to solve that issue.

Sorry to use this thread for my relevant question....
Intend to start using PD Suite 4 for authoring HDV minitape (1440 x 1080)material. Import via firewire from my Canon HV30.
Learned from this thread that this would be possible or .....?. Have used Pinnacle so far but want to change.
