I have given up on Cyberlink support and got around the problem myself...see below

Regarding the original support ticket, since I am not making any
progress I have now altered my Windows registry key to change the
%SystemDrive%\users\public entry to F:\users\public which has avoided
the issue.Clearly somewhere in PowerDirector 14 there is a
setting that is looking for downloaded templates in F:\users\public
rather than %SystemDrive%\users\public, even though they were originally
being downloaded to %SystemDrive%\users\public

Looks like the software does not have it's paths synchronised

Chris

Not an ideal solution but perhaps it will help somebody else!
This was an old topic that a lot of people seemed to have problems with - and now so do I!

I am using PD14 with W7 64bit and when I download new templates I get a message that they have been successully installed, but don't appear

I have found out what is happening - the download template file (DZP iirc) ends up in the Windows temp directory and when it is run places a new folder named 'pip...' in 'C:\Users\Public\Cyberlink\...'

The only was to get these templates to appear in PD14 is to manually copy them into 'F:\Users\Public\Cyberlink\...' (which at one time was one of my default document folders, but not any more!

Can't see anywhere where the template paths are specified anywhere in the software?? I don't really want to store data on the C: drive as it is an SSD - most of my documents are stored on a SAN (Synology DS413) so it is important to me to be able to specify where to install and read the downloaded files?

Anyone got any ideas why the install path is fixed as the C: drive but the read path is fixed as a different (F drive??? Not very logical!

Chris
